Rides That should be brought back to Life

Drachen Fire should RIH not RIP.

I'd like to see a Virginia Reel as someone suggested. I'd also like an early wooden mouse such as Wild Maus at Pontchartrain Beach.

I have a bunch I would love to see back in action.

The Cyclone Racer

Riverside Bobs

Idora Wildcat

Lakemont Twister

Playland Airplane

Coney Island (OH) Shooting Star

Crystal Beach Cyclone

Coney Island (NY) Tornado

Woodside Blue Streak

Myers Lake Park - Comet
1) Crystal Beach Cyclone
2) Idora Park Wild Cat
3) BGW Drachen Fire
4) PKI The Bat
5) CP Frontier Lift...sorry just had to add that one in ;)

As for thing(s) I most like to see brought back:
FUNHOUSES...and not the "trailer" kind!

Actually RCG, I've thought about the Frontier Lift going back in myself. Think about it. the one span would go right through the structure of MF and possibly under Mantis's lift hill turnaround.

I really would love to see them build a boardwalk along the beach and put a bunch of traditional rides on it with the rebuilt Cyclone at the far end. Now that would be cool!

Here's my list (assuming "rides" doesn't just mean roller coasters):

Soap Box Derby Racers & Tampico Tumbler - KBF
Mr Toad's Wild Ride, Davy Crockett's Explorer Canoes - MK
Horizons - Epcot
Tumbler - KBF
Revolution & Colossus (they're dead as far as I'm concerned) - SFMM
Any Jet Star 1,2, or 3 (only because I've never ridden one and it seems they're all disappearing)

I-4: The scariest ride in all of Orlando!

It is very unfortunate that West View Park in Pittsburgh closed before the internet, sites like this, and the rise of coaster enthusiast groups. If it had hung on long enough, it would never have needed to close, because all of you would have fallen in love with the park and its two classic woodies: The Dips and The Racing Whippet. West View would have been the Holiday World of its time: the small, hospitable, beautifully landscaped park sitting in a wooded valley, with a great mix of classic flats and two magnificent woodies that people would have come from everywhere to ride. They were just incredible coasters, the Dips running right down along the lake like Hoosier Hurricane at Indiana Beach. Among other features, the Dips included a 360 degree pitch black tunnel under the midway. The Racing Whippet was like Kennywood's Racers in that the two trains ran on a single track, the train starting on the right ending up on the left.

I also nominate Kennywood's Dipper for reincarnation. It was the greatest compact (not Kiddie or Junior) coaster ever designed and built. KW doesn't make many mistakes, but dismantling the Dipper to make room for the Rafting Ride was their all time biggest.

I wouldn't mind seeing King Cobra make a comeback.

....hell bring them all back ....in new condition.

not to demanding...lol

..."so many coasters,so little sick time"....

Skywhirls and all their cousins--KI Zodiac, MM Galaxy, AW Astrowheel.

Bayern Kurves

Cuddle Ups

Enterprises

All still great rides that should never have been removed from the parks that took them out.

I just heard from a buddy who just got back from the Preservation Con. in Denver. He said that Lakeside has big plans for there 100th anniversary in 2008. They're talking about restoring some of their old rides that haven't operated for years. The Rocket Ships, which thet still have, and that funky looking ferris wheel thing called the Star ride are suppossedly on their list.

BTW, I was told that Lakeside really rolled out the "red carpet" for the event and everyone was very impressed by the park. Even the spreads of food that Lakeside put out was like being at a formal wedding reception. Elitch's on the other hand.....well let's just say that the park didn't fare well in comparison. Lot's of complaining/whining about that place.

The original Mr. Twister and Wildcat, both from Elitch Gardens.

I found it rather funny that Elitch was even a part of the Preservation Con. I guess it had to, but considering its record on preservation, I don't think it deserves it.

I worked on the Racing Whippet at West View the last 2 years the park was open...'76,'77(also worked at Kennywood..thunderbolt)

The Whippet was BETTER than the racer, first drop was STEEP,and there was alot of airtime and laterals on it.

The dips was a good ride too, almost a mirror image of the Conneaut Blue Streak, turnarounds are different.

Great dark ride(haunted house)

I miss the park alot :( alot of fun times working there.

I liked the park better than Kennywood, many years ago,use to be more popular than Kennywood.

I'd like to see the Bat return, Euclid Beach Thriller, Flying Turns (even if Mack could do a steel trough, wood structure ride), and Racing Coaster come back since the park closed when I was a baby. as well as a slightly modified Drachen Fire.

When it comes to flats, I wish the Bayern Kurve would make a comeback.

X Factor

I just wish I knew what happened to Galaxy from the MB Pavalion. That thing was cool, and even though i like Mad Mouse, I miss it.

Well they have a preserved Carousel! But considering that had nothing to do with the event, I guess you do make a point.

Has anyone heard of a "Whirl-Fly"?

Its a coaster that the car is like a ferris whell and as the car goes around the track the seats would rotate. Thats interesting. But no one knows if it was built.
