Rides not in service - PRIOR to entering the park

It cost $6.18 to go to Cedar Point the first time I was there, and if people were disappointed at paying $6 to ride the Pirate Ride and the Earthquake Ride as many times as they wanted, then there's really no pleasing them.

What we did have, however, was rain and sometimes plenty of it.

One of my very favorite theme park memories was a visit to Kings Dominion with my church youth group where it rained steadily the entire day. I think we may have gotten a couple rides in here and there, but most of the day was spent shooting each other with water guns we bought at the park and playing in the arcades. It was the 80s…wasn’t long after that they stopped selling water guns.

I shot a ride operator at White Swan Park with a water gun. She wasn't amused. A few years later the park closed. I blame myself.

Hi

So you're saying if I hadn't barfed up my apple juice after a particularly intense Rotor marathon in the summer of '94, Geauga Lake would still be open?

If only I had known.

Promoter of fog.

What we did have, however, was rain and sometimes plenty of it. Who I felt sorry for were the guests who had come some distance and got no rides whatsoever.

That was our last trip to Cedar Point, circa 2016 or 2017. Friday evening was beautiful allowing us to snag rides on Gatekeeper and Valravn. Saturday was terrible. Terrible winds, frigid temperatures, and a rain/snow mix. Woodstock Express and Jr. Gemini were the only coasters open. We checked out Dinosaurs Alive and some of the kiddie rides but there was nothing else to do. We left after a few hours. Sunday was more of the same. We drove back home after an hour. That's the only time I missed Disaster Transport.
