Riders will get wet, possibly soaked, OK drenched!

Thunder rapids at Lake Compounce is the ride that got me the wettest. Went there one day in June, and my money in my wallet was still wet 2 days later.

Why is BGW's raft ride so infamous? I don't get it.

That's twice in the last few days jeremy....better watch out or I'll send our rain up to you...;) True enough, the Gatas *did* drop a big game last night, but it's not impossible for us to draw a #1 seed by beating UK here in the Swamp....besides, UGA really needed something to go RIGHT for them after this past week. Can you say "death penalty"...I knew ya could....we will miss you Fred!

Back to wet rides, Dudleys varies quite a bit....when it's warm (Halloweekends), they FILL up those troughs and you get *soaked*...esp. if you're smart like Bass and "front-end load" the boat...:). Bilge Rats, while a darn fine ride, has some "water cannons", but those things are so lame it's unbelievable, I could have opened my mouth and swallowed the whole *bucketful* of water...Methinks that Me Ship the Olive needs a bit more water pressure...;)

LMAO Bass...that was something I'll never forget.

Funny thing is that we didn't get soaked on any of the big drops but on the small shallow drop just before the "coaster-dip drop" into the Laughing Place. As we went over the edge a wall of water came over the side and got soaked, especially our feet. In fact it was my exclamation of "Oh! My socks!" that became the catch-phrase of the day.

Raging Thunder at Lesourdsville Lake.

Nuff said.

Oh, man. No kidding. That's a shoot-the-chutes in disguise! (It's too bad that waterfall towards the end of the ride shuts off...)

Hersheypark's rapids ride is my pick for the wettest raft ride. Several waterfalls span the width of the river and nobody can escape getting drenched. The waterfalls are so powerful and forceful that they can almost knock me out of my seat.

I think Rollersoaker, also at Hersheypark, is the wettest ride that you don't even need to ride to get soaked. One pass of a car overhead while you are waiting in line is all it takes to soak you down to your bones. (And the water was cold during my August visit!). Both are fun rides.

Blackfoot Falls(?) at Wild Adventures. I went last year in October and once the boat hit the bottom it was like 50 gallons of water were dumped on us. It was 55-60% outside so it was pretty cold after we got off. Not good! That was the last ride of the day.

The Congo River Rapids at BGT isn't really wet until the end. There is a waterfall that drenches about 2/3 of the people on the boat. Sometimes there will be someone on one of the water cannons that knows what they're doing and totally soak 2 people on the boat.

tt2...yes, Blackfoot Falls. I even mentioned it in the initial post, that sucker throws a TON of water up to the (perfectly-placed) bridge, whose glass panel ensures that ALL the water goes directly back down on the riders....this is the ride that should've been named Skloosh!

I agree with gardner, Canyon River Rapids at Hersheypark is definatly a drencher, and an awesome one at that. Tidal Force is very cool also.

I rode Tidal Force (HERSHEYPARK) on a *very* chilly day in September and that was not one of my smartest endevours. Roller Soaker had me soggy before I even got on, the ride just made it worse.

lata, jeremy

Lets see... if I remember correctly. We were drenched while standing in the line that came BEFORE the real line started, while standing the real line we got drenched, dryed up some while standing in the station, and then were drenched yet a third time while riding. There is also the potential of getting a fourth because the exit ramp is located underneath two track segments.

So ya, Roller Soaker does get you a tad bit wet.

The first time I rode Journey to Atlantis I got mega soaked, the kind of soaked that you know you wont dry off without a giant industrial sized dryer soaked. When I went last week I was lucky to get a few drops of water on me.

Riding Kumba last week when a downpour decided to start just as we were ascending the lift made for one heck of a soaking, albeit painful, water ride. :)

Progress: 21 pounds since 1-1-2003

To get the full experience on Popeye you've to ride it in the middle of summer when all the effects are on. No matter where you sit you will be just as wet as if you had jumped in a pool. Between the HUGE rapids, the people on Olive, the boatwash, and the 3-4 water falls you will get wet. Asides from Popeye, Perilous Plunge is absolutely drenching. Not so much from the big splash at the end, but it's from the steady stream of water that batters you in the face on the way down the drop. I was wringing my shirt out for a good while after my ride on PP.

If we are going to count weather then June 2001 every ride at PKD except FOF was drenching since I went during a tropical storm (Dolly?) I did get on Hypersonic though durning a cloud break.

I don't care what anyone says, Magnum is better then Millenium Force.

Besides Popeye and Movie Town Water Effect, (best bridge ever, stand in the corner) i have never been quite as wet as after riding nitro during the middle of a downpour. It was one of those Steamy jungle rains that Jersey somtimes gets in the summer and it all of a sudden openend up on the lift. I was upfront and was so amazinly wet and in pain from getting hit with Gallons at highway speeds that when i got off a ride op friend proceded to laugh at me. I was sad.
Tidal Force at Hershey is incredible. It's kind of an open air submarine. You tryly have to hold your breath.

The other incredible soaking that I received was riding front row on Roar at SFA in a total down pour. The rain drops just about went straingt through you. Tidal Force is that only "wet" ride that has soaked me as thoroughly as Roar did that day.

I vote the river rapids at Paramounts Carowinds as the WORST rapids ride ever, you NEVER get wet, the Hydro Surge at Myrtle Beach Pavillion was good before it flipped over and they turned off all the waterfalls (SURE the boats filled with water lol) Flying Super Saturator (when everything is working) will soak you in line, in the station, and on the ride, why hell, you get soaked on the break run, all the water drips off the top of your car into your lap, NOT pleasent on a cold day mind you.
My vote would have went to Perilous Plunge, but sence it was already mentioned. I will have to go with Jarassic Park River Adventure.
My two nominations—1) Thunder Canyon at Dorney, absolutely sadistic. I learned my lesson the hard way, take advantage of the ride in your swimsuit option and 2) Flying Super Saturator. Why is it that on every one of the cars, someone has not let loose their tank of water until they hit the queue? Ok, I'll admit I did it too. Revenge is so sweet:)

If you have a problem with clones, the solution is real simple—Stop traveling.
Buzz Saw Falls...The first time I rode it was in the front seat and right off the bat the barge (?) dives in nose first and we're submerged clear up to our arm pits. The rest of the ride was pretty dry.

The second trip we got smart and sat in the back... Immediately after the nose pops up the tail goes under and wall of water comes over our heads.

It's kanda nice in the middle of August, but they operate it in April and October too.

Is there such a thing as getting off a ride and feeling as if you've walked out of a cold 5 minute shower? Perilous Plunge.
