Riders needed for PKI video shoot!!!!

Hey Sean,

As you know my dad and I are local ACE members. Last fall my dad had a bike accident, he's lucky to still be alive. But that means he can't ride coasters or other rides any more. If theres a way I could bribe hime to let me go to one of the days, would it be okay if he just sat around and read or something? I'm not promising that I can go cause I still hafta get him to let me out of school.

Anyone know a good way?

heck yeah, sell him on the idea of the shoot as an "educational experience"....You'll still need to do school work and such, but you'll definitely learn some new stuff you couldn't learn in any classroom....

-----------------
....teachin' people about towel safety and proper towel usage...it's important!

True, but I've already been to one. I went to last falls for The Beast.(which I didn't miss school for) But I did miss school for the RRR media day last spring.

Ha Ha, I wish I had this kind of "educational experience" while I was still in school.

Incidentalist,

As for food, I am not sure. My guess would be that the park or crew could provide food or they will allow us to leave for a bit and get food.

Beast rocks,

That all depends on the park. Sometimes parks let people put their hands up, while other parks encourage hands down. I have been to one PKI photo shoot where we were requred to keep our hands down inside the car.

The Beast wasn't picked probably because the producers found Son Of Beast to provide a more striking visual which should help with the segment.

Charlie,

I wish I could give you a solid answer but as it stands right now, I am not sure. I know the park is wanting people to ride. I could ask the park for you but it might be a few days. Also, please be sure to tell your father that the shoots make for a VERY long day as Goofyrules can tell 'ya. And also remember that a guardian can be someone other than a parent as long as they are 18 years of age or older.

Just to let everyone know, I still have plenty of spaces available for each day of the shoot. Thanks to all those that decided to take part in this. It should be a very cool experience.

Sean, sorry I can't attend but I was just wondering. What would happen if the spots do not fill up. Will they still have it but with less people on the train?

Sean, I wanna go, but can't afford to get to the park. My question is:

Can you, or the park, pay for my flight and hotel accomodations while I attend the shoot? Thanks!

Hey, Shaggy, it's "Sea *$#@&$ WORLD!" LMAO.

Beast_rocks,

Yes, they will still do the shoot. A couple of weeks ago, they ended up spacing a bunch of us out to make it look like we had a semi-full load of riders on Acrophobia.

The main reason PKI has asked me to invite as many riders as I asked for is because there are usually a slew of people that simply won't show up even though they 'are commited to the shoot'.

As it stands right now, I do have enough guests to fill one train on Son Of Beast, but am just shy of a full set of riders for Drop Zone. I still need quite a bit of people for Tomb Raider. I still have a week, but I am sure spaces will be filling up soon. The more people, the better.

Joe,

Can't help you with the flight (after all, you or SFOG didn't pay for my flight I took two weeks ago AND the flight I booked tonight...so naaaaaaa.) but I can hook you up with a place to stay. However, that's a Joe Cool perk that only goes out to, well, cool Joes.

I'm so excited about the Drop Zone shoot it's unreal. What a cool deal.. we shoot for the show for 2.75hrs and we get to be in the park the rest of the day. Anybody have an idea how the crowd on Math/Science Day usually is? Or better yet, what are park hours that day?

Here is a question for ya......I am only 17 and my dad is having back surgery this thursday.....so I was wondering if you or the park can fax me the release form....they will sign it, and then fax it back you to with a form of ID proving that it is there signatures. I believe I will only be able to make it that way because my mom will need to stay home and watch him. And I would really like to go on the Tomb Raider day (Wednsday)

Thanks,

SideWinder

Sidewinder,

Sorry, but I can't help you out with that. My guess is the park wouldn't be able to help you either because the video crew will be the ones with the release forms and they won't be availabe for us to sign until we get there for the first day of the shoot.

-Sean

What show is this for?

GhettoCoaster,

I am not sure of the actual name of the show at this time because I heard it could change, but I do know it's for a series instead of just one show. It is supposed to air sometime in September.

-Sean

That is a really nice thing for the park to do. If only i wasent 10hrs away from PKI I would defintaly be there. Its a shame that alot of Sixflags parks dont do that, if SiXflags GreatAdventure where to do that i would definatly go ,i mean it would be great to see a rollercoaster socmehrsal for them thats actaly there coaster and not another sixflags park.

Sorry but what does LMAO mean?

80 coasters and soon to be more
Life is a roller coaster Ride It!

Crap, too bad I'm not 18. I would love to do this but oh, well. I'm sure there will be more opportunities that come along after I turn 18. Thanks for the info anyway.

mmm, roller coaster
(Homer Simpson)

Some things Sean forgot to mention that may be of info for people attending, The park or the film crew has the right to sit people anywhere they want, Choose who gets interviews ect.

It isn't a walk in the park and it isn't ERT, IT IS FUN though as just about anyone who has been on one can attest too. I trully just like being able to ride with people who love parks and not to sound too cheerleaderish, But I would help PKI out anyway I can. possibly being on TV don't hurt any either :)

Chuck, who hopes to meet many I haven't and will enjoy reunions with those I already have met.

Americana (Now called The great americana amusement park at Lesourdsville Lake) is opening in 2002. Indivdual visits are very improtant to the parks survival.

LMAO = Laughing My A** Off

Posting, "Me too" like some brain dead AOLer. I ought to to the world a favor, and cap you like old yeller...

Chuck,

Thanks for putting things in a different light. While I am getting a LOT of responses, I still am looking or a lot more riders, especially for the Tomb Raider shoot. Anyone wanting to attend just has to contact me and I WILL get back to you as soon as possible. If anyone can spread the word about this shoot, please do. I have posted info on various sites and e-mailed a lot of people. The more people that know, the better.

-Sean
