Riders needed for Discovery Channel video shoot at PKI

Posted | Contributed by Sean F.

Paramount's Kings Island needs 100 very enthusiastic riders to participate in a video shoot for the Discovery Channel. Tomb Raider: The Ride will be featured in a future edition of Extreme Rides.

To participate:

  • Riders must be at least 54 inches tall.
  • Riders must wear bright, solid color clothes with NO logos. No park wear of any type is permitted. Summer clothes are recommended. It may be cold outside but remember, Tomb Raider is an indoor ride. You can wear your jacket and store it someplace inside "the tomb."
  • The park will be serving a catered lunch to those that attend the video shoot.
  • All participants will get two free tickets for the 2003 season.
  • The shoot will take place Saturday, November 16, from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and you will be required to ride repeatedly, often having to sit for long periods of time as cameras are repositioned.

The first 100 people to respond will be admitted to the shoot and further instructions on parking and such will be provided. Please RSVP to Jeffrey Siebert at jeffrey.siebert@paramountparks.com.

Eric,

Jeff will send everyone the details. I just got my details today. As of right now, the shoot is now full.

Jeff,

I think PKI tried to call your people but they said you were too busy playing DDR to respond at that moment. I told you it was addicting.

To those Tomb Raider fans attending the shoot on Saturday, I will see you all there. It should be a great day.

Hopefully it will be a great day, and I'm looking forward to seeing you Sean, and everyone else that will be there!

Aaron,

Thanks! I look forward to seeing everyone also.

I think it will be a good day as long as everyone behaves themselves and has a good time.

I really had no clue Jeff would get over 1000 responses so fast! That just blows my mind. Oh well, there will be more. I will get the next one!

I promised the *free tickets* to a friend of mine at work who I "bribed" into covering for me Saturday! LOL! LOL! I guess she can have her "day off" back. :-)

I thought for sure I would be one of the first 100 emailing Jeff yesterday(Sunday) I can't believe I didn't make the list, considering this spring they couldn't even get 77 people. Oh well I am sure those who made the cut will have a great time, I envy all of you. If anyone cancels you know where to find me.

Eric.

"Press down on both those black buttons, aim you gun at the target and keep on squirting it till your Scooby reaches all the way to the top, Are you ready? Three Two One squirt um."

Well I got my confirmation from Jeff. I'll see all of you "actors" there.

Will someone please explain to me what is so exciting about a "Topspin in a Box" anyway?

P.S....

Q. What is a Paul Reuben ?

A. Someone who doesn't get the facts straight!

Go ride it and you'll see.

Don't...Look....Back!

I already miss the times when the park locals were asked first, (Jeffrey never responded to my e mail at all) but after the incredibly SMALL response to the shoot last May...A public "cattle call" might be the most effective way to get riders.

Does anyone else remember Mr. Seibert's joking about pulling a fire alarm at the local high school to get riders?!

Anyway, to those that were chosen----enjoy!
