Ride Warriors Coaster Weekend

WOW this thread has allot of complaining before the event even happened and for most of us it is free event. People need to chill out.

We got to KI Friday night and from Friday evening to Sunday it was a fantastic weekend. The event was very organized, well paced, and ERT Saturday night on Diamondback with a bright moon and crisp night air was surreal.

The event was great and I hope they make this a tradition every year!

Well put! :)

I will however have to agree with the mass confusion on registering. I had originally signed my hubby up as a guest till I realized he would have to pay for him (hes a GOCC member and a Platiinum pass holder) so went back in and registered him solo. I also did not receive and email confirming either one of us. I emailed KI and recvd an email stating we were both registered and I should have checked our spam folder. Duh, ya think?? Of course it was already done several times and even today we still haven't received a confirmation.

Wore my exclusively designed Ride Warrior Weekends t-shirts both days, and if anyone saw the Ride Warrior Weekend buttons on the crew-those were from me! :)

I plan on a TR later today. Good times!! :)

It was a great weekend...lots of fun.

People need to chill out, the park did a great job throwing the event. We had NO problems checking in or registering for the event.

I was only able to make it for a few hours on friday night, and all day for the saturday events. Had to get back home on sunday for moms day.

The ride crews were great, and the foods people were on top of the game.

The only things that I would change in the future is this...

1. Night time ert on the beast

2. Not have the event on mothers day

3. maybe have a T-shirt for the event.

The q&a was great, and the beast birthday was very well done(I ended up getting one of the gift bags :) .

Thank you Kings island.....Hope to do it again next year.

what you've just said is one of the most insanely idiotic things I have ever heard.
Everyone in this room is now dumber for having listened to it.
I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul.

I have no complaints, just my previous opinion about the ERT. Being fairly new to these events I am no expert. I also had a great weekend and cannot wait to do it again next year.

The free e-mailed Diamondback ride pics Sat. night was a nice touch and all the ride ops did a great job. All the workers at the park were friendly and helpful.

Yes it was.

I could care less if it was a "free" event. I would rather pay $50 to go to an event and get what I want than get in for free and settle for what they offered. For me, it would be like going to an event at Holiday World and having night ERT on Raven and Legend, but only daytime ERT on Voyage. Likewise I would never attend a Cedar Point event that didn't have night ERT on Magnum. And besides this "free" event would have easily cost me $400-$500 between traveling and hotel accommodations.

The event otherwise looked quite nice, but for me, night rides on The Beast trump everything else they offered, so it was an easy decision for me to stay "local" and go ride Boulder Dash instead. :)

Well, they can't make everyone happy.

But it looked like most were very happy.

If you were at the q&a, they mentiond that maintnance takes 5+ hours a night to get the beast ready for the next day and that the had originaly asked for both(beast and diamondback) to be open for ert on sat night, but maintnance had requested that they limit it to one coaster.

They thought that since diamondback was the new coaster, that they open it instead of beast.

Acoustic Viscosity: I don't think anyone settled for anything. It was a great event that was well planned.

If you were there Friday night you could have ridden The Beast as many times as you wanted in the dark, it was walk on most of the night. If there wasn't someone waiting for your seat they were letting you stay on the train. The tracks were wet from the rain and the thing just flew. After all of my years riding The Beast, Friday night's rides were by far the best!

By the way, Im not bad mouthing the event it sounds like it was a lot of fun. However, in the end when I considered the $ for a hotel and the fact that I have something planned either with family or friends for the next 4 weeks, it was just not going to happen. There is a good chance I would have shoehorned in a day if there was Beast ERT. Oh well, maybe next year Ill be able to do that event. Im still waiting on going to my first HW event too, I always seem to be busy the weekend they have theirs. At least I'll be making it to Coastermania again this year, and because Im working in Sandusky that month, I wont even need a hotel :).

I don't mean to come off as a whining enthusiast. I'm sure it was a fun time. :)

I do not like when you send in a deposit or payment for a event, and do not recieve any kind of confermation.

I mean how hard is it to send out an email saying "your payment has been recieved"?

I ran into this problem at an event one time. Sent in a money order, got there, they did not have it.

I too enjoyed Ride Warriors Coaster Weekend. Check-in was a breeze, both days' schedules went smoothly and I rather enjoyed myself. There is nothing worse than arriving at an event only to see that it is poorly planned and poorly executed. RWCW was nothing of the sort. Kudos to Kings Island for an excellent job on planning out their first coaster enthusiast event.
