ride reviews of new coasters

talk about the rides, tell the good points, and bad points, and give your opinions of the rides.
I think its a great idea and hope Jeff gets right on that one.

Good work Anthony.
If you wish to review a ride, try sending the idea (through the "Contribute" link) to Jeff as a new feature. Give a brief description of your idea, and he'll get back to you (as soon as he can, of course ;)).

If you're talking about ride reviews comparable to park reviews, I don't know. Those take an awful lot of time to read, edit, and format.

It would be something to replace the rumors.

SFMM went from Amusment Park to Xtreme Park. They skipped Theme park :)
I like the idea! It could start off as a small addition, but soon turn into a large archive. Each page could have the ride's logo, a few pics, a description and such, AND a maybe even a rating box. OOO! Goosebumps!

You can already rate rides in the CB database. They're rated on buzz level, intensity, and ride again.

Yes, I know, I meant a new type of rating system for the "new" coaster listing. Sorta like a sub-rating...or I guess using the original rate system on the page would help people know about the rating system.

Maybe more specific ratings than "buzz" and "intensity"...such as "airtime", "positive Gs", "pacing", "worth the wait", "fear factor", etc...
Also, a "tips & hints" section to add things like "be sure to ride this at night" or "the last seat is the best", or "wait until the evening when the line is shorter" and maybe a comment section for stuff like "the helix is very intense" or "the trims on the 2nd hill kinda ruin it". You get the idea...

There are a lot of things you could add that would give readers more info, without consuming too much bandwidth. So that the tips and comments don't get excessive, limit it to 1 or 2 lines of text, and/or maybe change the tips/comments daily or weekly.

Also - more info on the "Coasters" listings could reduce bandwidth in the forums, as long as you could get people used to checking the database before posting asking for generic, repetitive info. Kinda like RCDB, but objective rather than factual statistics (and I gotta do it - you need pictures, even if they are just links to someone elses site !)

Actually, this is a pretty cool idea. It'd be fun to be able to read reviews for the coasters. As far as bandwidth, mention above the submission area that reviews should be thorough and are subject to approval. Then, have the mods approve them (not edit). Heck, let folks post away and do a clean up every so often). I'll bet it would become one of the more popular features.

I think it would be a good idea. So when you go to the park you have an idea of what your riding. You can put a few descriptions of the ride, the logo, and a little picture.
