The only rides that say anything at Gadv is the one guy on chiller who always says something funny and the guy on rt that says "Yeehaw"!

-----------------
3.2.1 launch

FOF's autospeils can't really be heard to well, because they come from another speaker that is not related to the rides P.A. system, there are only 2 auto speil speakers in the queue, and only a few on the ride itself.

I think a recording would be even more annoying to a ride op, only because there is no variety.. its always the same thing...

Parks that have a lot of recordings are just lazy... (SFWoA? =P)

Well not to be rude buts its not for the ride operators anyway. If they always had recordings on maybe riders will have less torubel boarding the train and that load times would be more quick

I have to strongly dissagree with that, when you have a recording that plays over and over again many people will tend to not even notice it because they know it's a recording..if that makes sense. They'd be more likely to listen to a ride op say the same exact speech right in front of them, then if they heard it over the audio system.

On the other hand, at Busch Gardens I thought it was fun to see how many languages I could say the speils in by the time I got to the front of the lines. :)

smile...it's cheap, and people will wonder what you're up to. :)

You do have a point...then maybe people should be told every 10 secs by the ride operator? Whatever helps the loading time becuase the reality of it is that people do somtimes have troubel loading into a train and requier further assistance.

Yeah, I don't ignore the announcement. I actually tend to memorize them. However, S:RoS (SFNE) is one of the simplest trains to board. But it can be kinda hard to unlatch your seatbelt at the end of the ride.

SFNE drops its "floor" for 2002! Visit www.geocities.com/sfneguy for info. and pics of SFNE, including the most unique constr. pics of SFNE on the web. Formerly known as srosatsfne.

Bringing back an older thread here...

Because I had to mentioned the hilarious ride op doing the speil for Gemini at CP when I was there Aug. '01. Thin, blonde hair guy. Funniest I've ever heard. That in the middle of the day too.

SfGAm mostly uses good ol' pre-recorded spiels. I love memorize them, they say they syncronized with the spiel, nd all the other people look at me like i am crazy! Welcome to the American Eagle ! (hehe) :)

It must really be annoying to run the Eagle, and have to listen to that blasted recording, when both of the trains get into the station one right after the other, it is a wholle mess of mumble jumble.

-----------------
Welcome one and all, y'all come have a ball!
Things a bear-y fine, ridin' on the old Knott's bear-y line!

Yeah it is annoying to run the eagle.

-----------------
Your village called. They're missing their idiot.

I find it hard to believe that you ops say the speils for 12 hours straight. Where I work, you switch around and check bars or work the line and don't operate all day. Driving a coaster all day would be one of the easiest jobs in the world.

It's not like people listen anyway...

At Carowinds, most of the coasters, except for Top Gun, say "The train is now leaving the station" when the train dispatches. On Thunder Road when they race, it gets screwed up because 2 trains are leaving at once. "The train is is... leaving the station now leaving the station". I like Top Gun's pre-recording the best though.
space mountain, dl paris has a video w'ith this women telling you all about the ride and safety requirments and stuff. something to whilst waiting I suppose.

-----------------
My way, my way or the highway.

I have heard some ops mumble the lines but I have also seen ops that are very enthusiastic. One example would be a certain ride op on Lightning Racer at Hersheypark. He was hilarious and he got everyone pumped up for the ride. He only operated it during ERT one night, though.

-----------------
I can't think of a good signature.

Fun ride-op's rule."

And rule the CCMR crew last season did!

(NOT SAYING THAT BECAUSE I WAS IN CHARGE OF THE CREW AT THE BEGINNING OF THE SEASON OR EVEN ON IT FOR THAT MATTER)
