While the circumstances are not clear, a ride operator of the Magnum Force roller coaster at Flamingo Land was hit by a passing train on the ride. He was air-lifted to the hospital.

I hope the guy is okay, but I still say it was his fault. He was hit dead on, it's very difficult to get accidentally hit dead on by a coaster if ur doing what your supposed to do. "He was badly injured after stepping into the path of the ride" How many times must it be said that one should NEVER step into the path of a ride?

A little off topic on a serious issue, but since when is 3244 ft = 1 mile as stated in the article??
Sounds like this person unfortunately just simply didn't follow basic safety measures.

It's also pretty sensationalist of the BBC to describe the incident as a 'crash.' Usually it's the tacky tabloid media we get that from.
However it happened, it's still a bummer - here's hoping the guymakes a full recovery - it's a harsh lesson to have learnt.
