Ride of Steel topped?!!

MagnumForce said: I came very near to dying on the thing. If you rode with Vacoasterfreak and I you would understand the power of SFA's S:ROS.

You know you are the hit of the SFA video Brent :). But if I do remember correctly, I did show you the "proper" way of riding :)

Well Corey, I didn't want to name any names LOL

I just wanna try out some of your Chiller exploits.

God bless Intamin, Company that I love. Stand beside her, and ride her, from the opening to the closing of the day.

Ahh,that's what I like about intamin hypers because there aren't any trims on the ride whatsoever.
I have only ridden one B&M hyper, Raging Bull. For those who have ridden both Raging Bulla and AC, how does Raging Bull compare?
------------------
Im cold......
I honestly think AC must be very temperamental. When I rode it back in July it was amazing. There was so much ejector air and the midcourse was barely touching the train. We got so many rerides and every time it delivered. Unfortunately, a lot of people report no air at all. After my experience, I just can't understand how it's possible.

I havent ridden any of the SROS' but I have ridden 5 hypers and its easily my favorite.

To my knowledge every Intamin Hyper sans Goliath and Millenium Force has at least one set of trims.

I was on Apollo's Chariot many times last year and it seems like the more I ride it, the more I begin to dislike it. Personally, I think Nitro is a much better ride than AP. AP is overtrimmed and is, so to say, rather boring. The air is great on it but overall, it does not thrill me anymore. As for it being better than Superman: Ride of Steel? Let's just laugh at that question. I don't think B&M can make a hypercoaster better than Intamin.
------------------
Democrats talk about getting things done. Republicans GET things done.
Well that is a matter of opinion. I enjoy AP and Nitro far more than the overly-flat track of SFA's and SFDL's Supermans. In my mind, Intamin finally got it right the third time, with SFNE's version.

Tease Alert!

*Something* wicked this way comes...to the west coast in 2004!

None of the Superman Ride Of Steels will be topped ::Evil look::
Yeah Magnumforce, they may have trims but you hardly notice that they're even there.
I would like to address the 1! piece of flat track on SFDL's S:ROS, first of all it doesn't matter about 1 section of flat track the ride is still ranked as the #4 steel tracked coaster and it is ranked high not because of flat track but because the ride kicks A**.

It is ranked high every year.

------------------
Your Park only has 1 good coaster! That's too bad!

About the trims, I am pretty sure that they are sensor controlled, and trim more when the ride is faster, so that the speed stays basically the same. That is why nightrides on AC are so unimpressive. And yes, S:RoS at SFA does have a trim, on the second to last hill.

------------------
I hate it when "cooaster enthusiasts" put down coasters. Why can't we just have fun on all of them?

Not to mention, there are two long stretches of flat track on the SFDL and SFA versions of SRoS. Before and after the third hill. Some people love this track. I personally would rather have seen more hills included in the design, but overall, the ride is still top 15 material so it doesn't hurt it too much. I wish they could run two trains consistently though.

Also, whoever said you can't feel the trims on the SRoS'...did you ever ride SFDL's before it got trimmed? I did, and can *definitely* tell there's a difference. It doesn't ruin the ride or anything, but I remember that last hill before the trim, and I think it's a shadow of its former self (the shadow is still quite good though! :)).

As much as I've tryed to love Nitro the layout is just a little boring to me with it being just mostly flat track with bunny-hops.

I'm confused here. Are you commenting on the abundance of flat track on the block brake and on the final brake run?

Because that's all the flat track there is on Nitro. :)

Would you count Phantom's Revenge as a hyper, and if so then I think after going on Magnum, Raging Bull, and SRoS at SFDL, I'd have to say that PR is the most intense and best paced of the hypers I've been on.
Has anyone else here "Kissed the logo" on SFDL's or SFA's SROS? ... Cuz my friend and my Ex both witnessed me nearly flying out of the train on the third hill (between the two helices)

I would. Second drop is 228 feet.

I like things rough, so I'd take PR and S:ROS over AC ;)

I didn't kiss the logo.......I was in the back seat ;) Perhaps you need to see the video......

I put Phantom in a different category. It is likely the most non stop intensity Hyper out there.

I'm well aware of the trim that's on SFA's SROS,it's on the downward side of the 1st rabbit hop before the final brake run.

When you ride it however you barely even feel it at all unlike a certain wooden coaster in the SWT section of the park, about the only thing I've noticed with the ride over the past couple of seasons is the lateral shuffle of the train as it crests the 2nd hill now can someone tell me what's up with that?
