Recent *positive* SFMM experiences?

Well here's some positive things- I was just there yesterday and had a great time, except for the ridiculous station and queue setup at Riddler's. X was awesome - unlike any experience you've ever had. Viper is far and away the best arrow looper I've ever ridden. Revolution is cool with all the trees and terrain around the course. Arrowhead Splashdown and Log Jammer are fun log rides. Goliath was awesome and the crew was hopping, never more than a 25 minute wait with the queues reaching pretty far out of the station. In fact, using the 8 category rating system from the emgee thread, Goliath is my new number 2.

So, there are some positives for you. Could it be better? Sure - then again, there's only 1 park that needs no improvement in my book - so the same could be said for anywhere else - including CP and HW.

Also - Playa? That goes double for me! *** Edited 8/4/2004 2:30:58 AM UTC by Fafolguy***

I'll take the bait! What park needs no improvements?

No bait intended there, just didn't want to make the topic about my favorite park - IOA, I just don't see anything wong with it. The ride lineup is great, themeing is excellent, employees are energetic, food is superb, and lots of good merchandise, This is of course, my opinion, so YMMV.

I think there's lot of parks that don't need improvements, but I'm easily pleased. Every park out there could use some type of ride or another, but there's plenty of parks that are pretty near perfect as is...Knoebels, HW, IB, IOA, BGW, CP, Kennywood, SDC, SFOT, etc.

OMG, I'm a CreHo.

I thought it might be IOA! I agree that this is as close as it gets, but I love theming. Of course it would be a little better with some wood! :-)

Yeah, Gilbert Gottfried is a great rapper.

Rich and I had an awesome time there on father's day of this year. Despite all of the bad things I hear, both of our visits have been great.

We were very impressed with all the security guards on the route to X at opening. They did a great job of stopping people from running. The other thing which was very impressive was Goliath running(and loading) 3 trains with absolutely no line. *** Edited 8/5/2004 7:22:24 PM UTC by Sue***

Originally posted in the OTHER SFMM thread, but it fits better here:

The park's only bad when highly populated. I was there beginning of last summer, so it's obviously been a while, but I was at the park 3 of the 7 days I was in California for various amounts of time, and when it was dead the first day I was there, I did almost all of the coasters (no Flashback, Deja or kiddie coasters) and I thought it was a *very* nice park and that all the reports I heard on here were wrong or spoiled or something ...

... then I went back the next day and it was absolutely packed and itw as everything everyone here said it should be! I took pictures for a couple of hours, rode like 2 or 3 coasters and went back to my hotel.

Went back for a third day later in the trip when I got back to my hotel earlier than I had expected to from an interview (I was staying right by the park) and I decided to go for the last 2 hours of the day again and the park was again dead, and I ended up getting the Deja credit ... twice, and riding just about everything in the lineup again in about 2-3 hours.

It seemed that the ops and the rides and just the entire park (forever-broken rides excluded) are set up for a MUCH smaller crowd than the park usually gets and that's the root of their problem. *** Edited 8/5/2004 7:34:24 PM UTC by Impulse-ive***
