RCT2 Burnable?

Just burning RCT2 will not run unless you have a no-cd patch (no, I won't tell you where to find one). CloneCD will not even make it work. And copying the files to the HDD first won't work either, you'll still be missing the track of data on the CD that contains the information needed to unlock the anti-piracy measures.

RCT2 is even more "burn proof" than The Sims was considered when it debuted.

So then share with us what software you used.

I would like to remind you that requesting illegal software and/or requesting information with the purpose of using this information for illegal actions can be severely punished! ;)

Furthermore, I would like to tell you that you need a crack to be able to run an illegal copy of RCT2, because this game is very well protected.

However, in this case, using the software to make a perfectly legal single backup for personal use is fine. Therefore, requesting the type of software used to do so is NOT requesting information for illegal purposes.

It uses SecureROM v2 as far as it's disc check routine. The program checks a sub track to make sure the CD is a pressed silver based CD and not a burnt one.

There is a work around for it..

DRNK: Maybe it isn't OK in your country, but it's perfectly legal here to make an archival backup of software that your purchased. We can thank the cheap bastards who pirate software and music CD's for even making copy protection necessary.

Well then, Jeff, I absolutely believe you. ;) Send me a mail, and I'll give you the work-around needed to get a copy of RCT2 to work. Can't post it due to the Dutch "internet politie" and "BUMA/Stemra", those guys really notice everything.. :(

Sorry for the inconvenience!

Use nero and make a copy cd. Works fine and is legal.

I used Nero and it didn't work. I want to be able not to put the cd in, but play the game. I bought a program called Game Drive, but it will not work with RCT 2, and it will work with the other three RCT games.

Clony, then CloneCD.

-----------------

If you got Roller Coaster Tycoon 2 installed on your computer, then you can play the game without the CD, if something should happen. All it takes is a simple Download...

Simply Download the NO CD Crack. If you don't want this posted Jeff, then simply delete it.

There you have it, no need for a CD.

That patch does not work as the Rct2.exe file does not install off the CD. The Rct2.exe file stays on the CD. Those patches on that web site are no good. They don't work.
