Actually, I'm almost certain that it is *not* illegal to make one copy of a CD so that the original can be kept for back-up purposes... so get down off your mighty horses people.

Do any of you know how to build a sundial out of a pen and a donut?
uh oh, sounds like someone has a case of the mondays.
It is legal to make a copy for the purpose for back up. There is no law against making 1 back up for a game. My LL CD got scratched but the back up came in handy. In fact I had talk to former FBI agents about this and they told me its perfectly legal.

I would like to know how to burn a copy of it. I don't want to shell out another $30 when (notice I said "when" not "if") the original becomes scratched and unusable. For the amount of time I spend playing the game, it's going to happen eventually. Right now I have a nice Memorex coaster from a failed burn attempt.

I tried to burn it for my bro but it didn't work. Considering the fact that I've spend over $200 on rebuying RCT cds because they were cracked, scratched, lost ect. they have plenty of my money.

If you have a large enough hard drive and can find a copy of virtual cd from symantec, you can acually make a virtual copy of the cd on your harddrive, and then install RCT2 from that image rather than using the cd. Now I have done this with the original and gold additions of RCT and it worked, and I also have copied cd to cd/r with an 8x burner and a 2x dvd rom. I do not know if the V-CD will work with RCT2 or not, I will find that out after I purchase a 120GB drive so I can burn images of all of my install software/games on that drive....

Nero.
Once you have the game installed, there is a way to play the game without the CD. There is a site full of No-CD Openers, but I won't list the site because I don't want to get in trouble, and if I won't, then just say so Jeff, and I'll post the link. In fact, I just checked and they have one for RCT2...
