RCT Deluxe or RCT 2? Which should I buy??

I need someone to tell me which is worth spending my money on: Roller Coaster Tycoon Deluxe (which has all three games for RCT1) or Roller Coaster Tycoon 2....I DON'T KNOW WHAT TO DO!!! I'm just getting into the game, but I was told that RCT2 is just like the 1st but has more stuff added in, only RCT Deluxe has three packs in all at once.

Which is worth my money's go? Deluxe is only $20, but if RCT2 is worth it then I'll take that. Someone please guide me through this, I've started through Sims Theme Park and Sim City 300 and The Sims; which is worth it? RCTD or RCT2?

I don't know why you wouldn't buy RCTII. Both are equivelant in pricing, and #2 adds a lot more detail to the original game platform. Not only do you get larger maps for parks, a scenario creator, rollercoaster designer, tons of new scenery and ride types, but chances are, Atari won't release any more expansion packs for the original RCT. The second expansion pack for RCTII is due this coming October. And to add insult to injury, RCTII is basically everything RCT (Deluxe, LL, CF) is, but more.
Get Deluxe...RCT2 isn't worth it yet. You say you are just now getting into it. Get the original series and if you are still interested in it after finishing all the scenarios then by all means get RCT2.

Get RCT 2. To get RCT1 now that RCT2 is out would be a waste. RCT2 has alot more stuff.
RCT2 has tons of stuff. A lot more selection with rides. And A LOT of different scenery when you make your own scenerio.

Clear for launch............. ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!!!

Yeah, get RCT 2. It is everything deluxe is and A lot more!

Don't you think he knows, you know, he knows, you know, you know? Or not. I'll be under a rock if you need me.

I have both and I would definately say get RCT 2! It has a lot more features, rides, scenery, etc.; and a lot of the websited are only updating with RCT 2 stuff.
yea get RCT2. you can work on coaster building in the Roller Coaster Designer, plus you have a couple new types of coasters. go for 2 definitely.
This isn't a logical question. RCT2 has everything and more than RCT1 deluxe. I don't understand the contemplation here.........

Andrew Polcyn must be absolutly insane to tell you to get deluxe over RCT2 because its just so STUPID!

I'd say RCT2 because you can get everything with the exception of a few land/path options in RCT2 that you had in one, and if you like scenerio play, you can download all the old ones for the new game. The only thing that 2 dosen't really have that one did were a few more path types, the ability to change path supports, and ingame mountain maker, and booster track on some of the coasters, but that's it. 2 has more coasters, more/better scenery with stacking ability, and more rides. Plus, if you like scenario play and scenery, Wacky Worlds is awesome!

I know the RCT2 can be lame at times the 2nd is the better one...now whether wacky world is worth anyting i'm not sure but get the 2nd!

If you are running Windows XP you NEED to get RCT2. RCT1's expansiong packs are NOT compatible with XP.

That's why Loopy Landscapes wouldn't work on my computer! But why does the original work?

From what I keep hearing, more people are choosing RCT over RCT2, more parks are being built using RCT because of so many limitation brought forth on RCT2 as well as that new scenery expansion.

I say pick the one you want, but if you want an RCT game to load faster and not wait ten minutes for every little piece of scenery to load, then get RCT Deluxe. If time is not a priority, as shown greatly here, then get RCT2.

Ten minutes for each piece of scenery to load? Every thing is instant in my RCT2. How old is your computer? Is it from the stone age?

Heh, what kind of archaic machine takes 10 minutes to load scenery? You do know they measure chip speed in Gigahertz these days, right?

You guys are leaving out the single biggest improvement in RCT2 - block brakes on coasters!

Followed close by the fact that you don't have to terraform the land to create buildings.

Does anyone with a choice still play the first one?

The biggest improvement may be the block brakes, but what about things that were left out? The boosters on the steel coasters come to mind. Now in RCT2 if I want to get more speed, I need another lift hill, where in the first one, all I had to do was add a booster or two and be fine.
