Last night I upped my memory from 128meg to 256K and was able to play for 3 hours straight with no slowing at all.

CPLady...you "upgraded" from 128MB to 256KB? Thats 1/500th of the memory you had before... ;) The last time I had a computer with 256K was my old PCjr in 1987! ;) ;) ;)

and I know what you meant...I am just teasing you... ;)

Heh...that was pretty dumb of me. That's what I get for posting from work and not paying attention. Yes...I upgraded to 256meg. Although now I'm not sure what will happen when my husband buys and loads Civ III with the multiplayer expansion. Most of my memory is currently being eaten up by Medal of Honor and 1942.

Bad enough I get kicked off my PC for his Saturday Night Gaming sessions...not being able to play RCT2 because I don't have enough memory due to his games might get really old, really fast.

CPLady,

The fact he has games installed on the machine does not affect the memory of your computer (unless they are running at the time). Where his games _DO_ affect you is on the hard drive. Memory is used for running applications, hard drives are used for storing applications.

Hope that clears it up for you...

Thanks, Redman. That's why I'm not the techie. *grin* So...if his games are eating up my hard drive space, will that affect the amount of space needed for storing coaster designs and scenarios?

That is affirmative CPLady...

...and don't feel bad, I work in IT and I lost count years ago of the number of users that have had the same misunderstanding between memory/hard drive as well as GB/MB/KB...
