When I was playing for a while(15 min) my Rct2 became very slow and I figured it was because of the disk because it was hot when I took it out. Is there a way I can make it faster or is it just the game or will there be a patch to make it faster
There is a possible way of fixing this but it involves editing the Windows registry. Unless you are comfortable/skilled with doing so you might just stick with other ways. For example, there might be some background programs running in Windows that are interfering with your game session. Try closing any other unused or un-needed programs and see what happens with that.
That kind of behaviour is almost always caused by something running in the background.
It's funny that people always complain about Windows being slow, but more often than not those are the people who load it up with a thousand third-party apps running in the background.

Yes, that's normal for RCT2, CobraRoller. Depending on how fast your machine is (how fast the CPU is, how vast the disk drive is, how much memory you have, how good your video card is), those loading progress bar will be up for only a moment or two or for what seems like a LONG time.

Ah...seems I'm not the only one with this slowing problem. And I don't exactly have an old system. Yesterday, I figured it was because there were some other things running in the background, but I took care of that. Today, the same thing is happening again.
It starts out running just fine, but after I have my park filled up with rides, it starts running slowly and jerky.

Again, how much memory do you have? You might want to add more. Maxing out the memory would cause that same problem. The box says "128Meg RAM recommended" for a reason. I'd say 256Meg is even better.
Hi,
Here's a question, can anyone explain why my RCT2 slows to a crawl when I explore or work on my park near the entrance? It's slows down so much...but once I move away from the entrance it works fine. I was wondering if I placed the entrance to close to the edge of the map? Is it possible to move the entrance ?

hey wings, are there alot of peopel in your park? are there alot of rides and people near your entrance?
My computer is fast enough to run it and it gets choppy when i view crowded sections of the park and when you get further away from it, it speeds up. Everyone, i assume, has this problem, if you want to call it a problem.
Like it was mentioned before, thousands of small things are goin on at once on the screen , so it will slow down.

Hi,
Thanks for the reply, I only have about 500 people in the park right now. Near the entrance is a large wooden coaster, but I seem to remember this problem before it was built. The people leaving the park move really slow, I will try to move things around near the gate and see what happens.
Also, Is it possible to move the current or add a new entrance to an existing park?
