RCDB Gets New Look

Hey, I like it. The logo is really clever if you ask me. Most logos suck.

You got that right. I admit that I had to look at it a second time to "get it", but I think that's what makes a good logo- something that isn't outright obvious at first but impossible to ignore once it begins to make sense.

Am I making sense? ;)

I'd be more excited about the quick search and 50 mile radius if it listed only existing parks. I typed in my home zip and aside form Hershey, Williams Grove, and Dutch Wonderland, I also got Paxtang Park, Rocky Springs Park, and {another park I forget the name of} the latest of which (Rocky Springs) closed in 1981.

As for the more detailed search, I typed in the closest city on the list to me (York PA) and came up with a Location Not Found Error.

The previous version allowed you to search for defunct, existing or all parks within a ??? mile radius... you can't pick anymore?
Not the only fanboy Gonch, I've enjoyed and contributed to Duane's site for about four years now. :)

Hey, I'm gonna kiss a little a** here so if you don't like it skip to the next post.

Duane Marden has taken his time, energy and money to put together and maintain the most comprehensive site that exists: RCDB is the bible of rollercoasters. Orange looks cool, I liked the blue too, either way, it doesn't get any more detailed than RCDB. Not to leave out Coasterbuzz, which has a slightly different function, and Jeff does a pretty good job with it too.

Sure you can. As mentioned earlier, click Amusement Park underneath Advanced Search.

SLFAKE, the search seems to work better if you enter a zip code rather than the name of a location.

Oh no, I'll be the first to admit that our database here kinda sucks. There just aren't enough hours in the day to maintain the integrity of the database the way Duane does when I've got news and forums to deal with.

This site has the community.

RCDB is the encyclopedia of this community. It all works itself out.

Right, I'd never compare the two, as both are totally different. Sure, CBuzz has a database as a 'bonus', but RCDB is all that it is (and why I love it so much).

I thought the Logo was great the first time I saw it. Then I 'got it', and liked it even more. Now if he'd just set up a shop at Cafe' Press, I'd have an official RCDB shirt to wear to parks. :)

Amen, brother rathofdoom!

It's like this is church and rcdb is the bible. :)

Let's start a cult about rollercoasters.

I personally like the new layout better. IT adds some character. Theres a few coasters that are orange and blue.. i dont see you hating on them because of their colour or their logo. It looks good much better then the old style IMHO.
Didn't some Shivering Timbers fans create COST (Church of Shivering Timbers)?
