Could you limit the amount of chars that go into the quote? Just enough so we get the jist of it. Or, when you "reply" reference the post you are replying to.
I think the quote feature is really helpful to users when replying to an active topic and help us communicate. You are going to have your work cut out for you deleting posts, confusing users in the process.
We don't allow AOLer l33tsp33k either, and somehow people understand that. This isn't any different.
