Hello everyone. I'm new here and I'm thinking about purchasing a membership to either CB or ACE (or possibly both.) A couple of years ago, CoasterBuzz was invited to Ride Warriors Weekend, which I attended as a member of one of the free enthusiasts sites. My question is, were there any events that CB was invited to last year? The reason I ask is because there was no Ride Warriors Weekend last year (in spite of the guarantee of a site administrator who had no affiliation with the park) and there was no event at all for the enthusiast club that I'm already a member of. (Which is run by people who don't know what they're talking about at times. Man it feels good to be in a safe place to say that.) I was really disappointed and I'm hoping to attend an exclusive event this year after an amazing time at Ride Warriors Weekend 2009 and a disappointing 2010 to say the least. Do I have a better shot with ACE? Are there any members of ACE that can confirm there were ACE events at Kings Island last year? Do members of CoasterBuzz generally get invited to the same events that ACE does?
Thank you all and I look forward to hearing what you have to say about this because it's very interesting to me. I'm a former employee of Kings Island and yes, I worked there in the Paramount days.
Pretty much any club membership (including CoasterBuzz)will get you into any park sponsored event. Like CoasterMania, Holiwood Nights, Timbersfest, etc.
Clubs have their own events and most allow non-members to attend for a small surcharge. You can see the list of CoasterBuzz events here. If you had a question about a specific event, I would be able to help you better. In regards to Kings Island events, I'm not sure what ACE has done in the past. Great Ohio Coaster Club is having an event there on the 21st of May. Registration has passed, but if you were interested, I could make a call and see if it's still possible to register.

Any event that is of general enthusiast interest accepts CB members. Coaster Solace (Knott's), Timbersfest (Michigan's Adventure), Coastermania (CP), HoliWood Nights (Holiday World), etc. We also have our own events like the Fall Affair (Holiday World) and BooBuzz (CP). We haven't had an event at KI since Cedar Fair took over, which is a damn shame because BeastBuzz was epic. I'm not aware of them bringing back the Ride Warrior event, which is also a bummer because it seemed to be pretty well attended.

Ride Warrior Weekend only happened one year. It was planned for the second year and was canceled prior to the start of the season. I wouldn't consider it a forgotten event. But, it definitely got put on the back burner.

Thank you both for the information and Jason I did send you a PM er.. make that an e-mail. If you'd rather just pass the information along to me here, that's fine. Whichever. When Ride Warriors Weekend was announced in 2009, they did it in either January or February, so well before the start of the season. It was an amazing event and I wish they'd bring it back. I don't forsee them doing it until Windseekr opens as well as the Dinosars Alive exhibit--and that's if they end up doing it at all.
Jeff: when you say that CB hasn't had an event at KI since CF took over, do you mean you just haven't had an event or that you haven't been invited to any events at all? (With the exception of RWW 09.) Were there any events at KI last season that CB was invited to?
KI hasn't done any general enthusiast events since RW. We haven't done any CB-specific events there since '06. (It wasn't from a lack of trying.)

ACE had an event called BooBash last October (name sounds oddly familiar, eh?). They have not stated if they will be having it again this year. If they do, it will show up on their events page at some point.
GOCC was having a Fall Freak Out event for the past couple years, but apparently that turned into the Spring Fling event this year. Their site says registration was due April 30th with no exceptions.
KICentral had late summer events in 2007 and 2008, but have not had one since, at least not officially.
I've never heard a specific reason that Ride Warrior Weekend was not continued. It was very well attended. :(
Just a friendly reminder for those of you who aren't interested or can't afford to be in more than one club. We honor memberships for all card carrying clubs at most of our events. CoasterBuzz included.
We have a "Spring Fling", "Mid Summer Scream" and "Fall Freak Out" every year. It's usually at different parks each year. Though we've had requests from KI and CP to have an event each year. That's part of the reason we are having another event there so soon to our last one. The closeness to our last event is probably one factor affecting the attendance to this years event. That being said, we can probably still get you registered for the KI event. But, you need to act fast. There's a certain number we had to guarantee for the event and I don't think we hit it yet. I also know we've had enough response that we're not canceling the event.

What coaster club do you represent, Jason Hammond. I am not familiar? Who is the "we" in your above post?
