At first they wanted me to send a down payment of 20%.. Obviously I didn't feel comfortable doing that so I asked if they would pay for a flight to meet with them in person ...The accepted my offer...
I should try that method next time I want to go on vacation. Find a timeshare or resort that wants me to send a 20% down payment on my stay, say no, then ask them to fly me there for free to check it out before I make my decision.
As I suggested before, make sure you know what you are getting. If you go with the Chinese company, make sure you visit some of the company's actual installations. See how well they operate, how well they age, etc... Over the phone, or in an office any company can tell you they make the best coasters in the world.
For $2 million, it is either a very small coaster, or there must be some corners somewhere that are being cut.
And what sort of after-purchase support are you going to get from this Chinese knock-off company? You're a "one and done" type customer, on the opposite side of the planet, where they will probably never do business besides with you. (What US amusement park would buy a Chinese knockoff of a 1970's design? * ) They may not feel any obligation to ever talk to you again once they have your money and fulfilled their legal obligation to manufacture the ride pieces.
While at this point I do think you're serious, I still think you need to give this a lot more thought.

This has to be one of the oddest threads on Coasterbuzz, ever. Granted, I haven't been around that long.
There was this one thread years back about a guy who talked about time travel. I can't believe there's a wiki on it, but there it is. Oddly familiar tone.
Even thinking about the Chinese piece of junk after coming here and listening to the gracious comments of folks actually entertaining your sincerity, especially given your significant expendable income, is like seriously considering a vintage, overpriced Yugo after inquiring folks who "seriously" discuss automobiles about what type to purchase with an endless budget.
That said, keep going, by all means. It's been mildly entertaining so far.
A Chinese knockoff??? Flight cancelled.
Who goes shopping for a new Ferrari and drives home in a 1977 Ford Pinto?
And why aren't reps from this Chinese company flying here on their own dime to make their presentation, rather than having our friend fly there?
I suspect shenanigans...

Believe it or not there was actually a whole game called steins;gate based on John Titor.
Hey, let's ride (random Intamin coaster). What? It's broken down? I totally didn't expect that.
Honestly, there have been some very tragic accidents on Chinese knockoff rides. The price may seem right, but I'd be very reluctant to give this a real try, rich as Midas or not. Please be very careful and observant while considering this firm. I don't want to see you and your family on the news sometime (unless it's just to show the new rides of course).

If it's made in China it's on Alibaba. After looking at their offering I would not be hesitant on this one I would be flat out against it. For the safety of yourself and anyone that may ride this please please please be careful if you are in fact serious about this.
Wow how did this ridiculous topic elude me?
Dude if you've got so much cash to spend, why wouldn't you just buy an existing park? There's plenty of small parks in the Northeast that can't turn a profit, they'd gladly sell to you and you can close 'em up and have the place to yourself.

Why do I get a feeling that this guy is a same person who spilled millions into a large wooden boat over at Kentucky...?
We need an update - don't keep us in suspense!
There's a difference between building a roller coaster and building a "good" roller coaster. I'm sure you could build *something* for $2 million but what's the point if it's not really that fun?
I love that there is a person trolling and we're all waiting for an update. We are nerds. Big time.
