Pull Throughs

I don't really understand this concept.

I know new steel coasters have pull throughs, beut I don't get what it is.
It's a track alignment and reach-envelope test. They put a couple of cars on the track, and load the car with a jig that represents the designated rider reach envelope...that is, how far up, out, and down can you stick your limbs. Then the car is pulled around the track with a crane. Each track joint can be examined with an actual train in place to insure that it all went together right, and any dubious clearances can be measured and/or fixed before the ride is opened.

If I ever get my crap together, I have the time-lapse video of Cedar Point's Millennium Force pull-through. The last part of it shows the cars being pulled over the lift and through the first turn.

You think they needed to do a pull through on S:TE? You know, there might not be enough clearance. Someone could loose a limb. LOL :)
