^So that means you're coming, Mark? ;)

I don't know where I got in my head that it was going to be on the 3rd. Maybe because it's been the first Saturday for the past few years. Good thing I checked the website yesterday.

^^Yes, as long as there are not any unforseen obstacles in my path. :) I have my rooms booked in Danville.

Phunfest is always the same weekend as the Covered Bridge Festival. The question would be how do they pick the date for the festival.

I was once told the "formula" for scheduling when the Covered Bridge Festival is held but I'll be dammed if I can remember it now. It's not on the same weekend each year (i.e "first Saturday of October"). It's two weeks after....something*. lol

*Perhaps something to do with an event at Penn State?

They usually have a home game that weekend. That's why hotel rooms are so hard to come by the closer you get to the date.

What is the best motel to stay at that is close to the park? This will be our first PPP and we are really looking forward to it. Thanks for the info.

Check these out. They have everything from hotels and motels to B & B's.

^ Thank you. Someone suggested Red Roof and that looks like the best price/value in the area.

Be forewarned. I heard that last year some *unnamed enthusiasts* created quite the disturbance at Red Roof. Even JoePa came to complain that there was too much noise, and it was keeping the football team awake. ;)

We're trying to rectify that this year by blocking a corner of the building and taking up all rooms adjacent to said "party room".

You still have Zoidberg.... You ALL have Zoidberg! (V) (;,,;) (V)

The Red Roof is horrible! The room look like they haven't been updated (or cleaned!) since the 80s. The other hotels at that interchange (Danville @ I-80) are newer or recently renovated. Avoid the Red Roof.

^^You'll have to let me know where said room is. :)

Now that you mention it, you probably mean 2 weeks after this:

They always have it September 20-something, but this year it goes into the beginning of October. It's one of the, if not the biggest fair in the state of PA. Probably a good thing not to hold PPP the same w/e.

The Red Roof is bad but don't go near the Day's Inn at the same interchange. I've never been more frightened in a hotel.

Sounds like I'll be better off driving home afterward. I'm not much for frightening hotels/motels.

Oh man, that was a fun party. LOL

I was fine with my Red Roof room last year. It was wayyy better than the Darien Lake Econo Lodge!

I'd give that hotel 0 stars, but that would be way too flattering. Felt dirtier getting out of the shower than I did going in.

There are lots of good hotels in the area. Driving home Sat night would mean missing the best part of the weekend: PPP Hangover Day, which is Sunday.
