Power riding and marathoning

I could ride most coasters all day, but I don't know about sleeping. How would you support your head? I would think that you would get whiplash if your neck muscles were relaxed and you were not awake to react to the curves.

The worst day at Cedar Point is better than the best day at work.

I know that I could ride Timbers forever given the right conditions. I am really comfortable and familiar with everything about the coaster, so I know I could handle it. I have actually slept on the ride, as well as read an entire novel :).

As far as other coasters, it just depends. I could never ride a coaster for long periods of time if I wasn't familiar with it. Knowing where to ride all day if power riding is key. For instance, I won't even touch the back of Timbers on a day where I am power riding, just because it takes a lot out of you if you were going to ride back over and over for a day. Also, being able to ride naturally, with no tensions, is important.

To me, power riding and marathoning are different definitions. Marathoning is riding it a ton of times in a certain period of time, while power riding is riding it a ton of times in a row....just my take :).

How long do you HONESTLY think you could ride over and over on a coaster? For those who would say they could go the whole time, please give some proof as to why you feel you could.

I honestly can say 'I think' I could last a month riding a coaster.

Why?

Because I love riding them so much. Of course, it would all depend on the coaster and the conditions but I have done a few single day marathons with no problem at all.

Back in 1995 I did 108 rides (52 without changing seats) on Batman at Six Flags St. Louis in under 24 hours.

I did over 60 rides in a row without getting out of the train on Kumba in 1997.

In 1998 I rode Twisted Sisters 113 times with a few others throughout the day.

While the things listed above are in no way comparable to going for months, I would like to point out that in all those instances I mentioned above, not once did I ever wish I could have gotten off the ride or was tired of the ride. Riding day after day would probably drain me quite a bit, but I know how my enthusiasm is for coasters.

However, ask me how I would feel after spending a month on a coaster and I could have a different answer. =:^)
