SFA's Mind Eraser is the only SLC I've experienced, so I'm not sure how it compares with others with regards to smoothness. Rough coasters normally don't bother me in the least, however. Personally, my favorite part of an SLC is the entire middle section, from the banked camelback to the barrel-roll. What an ingenious design...it flows so perfectly, and offers an exquisite combination of positive g's and sudden directional changes, followed by the most spectacular foot-chopper anywhere (where the track crosses over itself after the helix).
I like this topic. Frankly, I get tired of constantly hearing how 'horrible' SLCs are.

As a rule, if you brace yourself and prepare for a rough ride, you'll be pleasantly surprised by the amazing G's it pulls, especially on the first drop and in the "valley" right before the half-loop. Plus it's one of the few suspended/inverted coasters to feature an airtime hill (the twisted hill right after the Sea Serpent).
Overall, i don't think it's a horrible ride. If you like intense rides, it's a solid ride. Not something i'd be thrilled to get as a new coaster, but i certainly wouldn't want them to tear it down.

What's funny is that out of the 4 SLCs I've been on, Kong at SFMW is absolutely the smoothest one I've ridden......Maybe I just caught it on a really, really, really good day :~)
No, you didn't. The hematoma you experienced gives you the feeling of euphoria, a state which I would have loved to have been in prior to my single ride on Kong this last July.;)
You all need to ride Blackout at Suzuka Circuit, in Suzuka Japan. That there is the real deal. No shuffling... pure smooth bliss. A re-ride if ever I saw one.
