What it comes down to in the end is which coasters your actually gonna ride.
Well, true to a certain extent but I can afford going most anywhere in North America thus, even by your standards most anything going in in North America is in my sphere of potential interest.
For example, I live in MI which is much closer to CP and the immenent WT installation than anything but it's the ride that I'm least interested in of the majors, why? Because it's not really advancing the technology very far. Going to CA is far from a weekend jaunt but I've been following the new installations out there pretty closely because they're pushing the envelope with thrills whereas some of the other ones here in the midwest and the northeast are just modified or nearly cloned older designs which don't really capture my imagination.
Don't get me wrong here, I'm happy with any new ride at a home park (or at any parks period for that matter!) but....
Just because getting on ride z in the near future isn't particularly feasible doesn't mean I won't be excited about the prospect (ie: my obsession with Tonnere de Zeus, the Crystal Beach Cyclone, the new Japanese Hyper that's partially built on rooftops, etc.) so saying that only what you're going to be able to ride is a bit off, particularly when you start talking about defunct/legendary rides like the CB Cyclone
