Poor SFNE

Currently the poll shows nobody cares about SFNE's floorless. Sad, isn't it? Have we all really been entranced, preoccupied, obsessed, or whatever you want to call it with X, WT, and SFoG's coaster that we forgot about SFNE's floorless? No wonder nobody talks about it, it's overshadowed by X, WT, and SFoG. Why is that? Just because it isn't a prototype doesn't mean it doesn't deserve our attention.

I'm almost quite positively DEFINATE that the reason there is (or was) nobody voting for that is because the poll was just put up on the 7th of January.

Give it a day or two or 5 and you will see that the results will be a little more accurate. Albeit, it's just a simple poll, I'm pretty sure that SFNE's coaster will still fall into last place behind Over Georgia's coaster not because they are bad coasters, but they are overshadowed by the big-boy branded parks.

Obviously, we can basically guess how the results will end up from first to last... unless someone figures a way to skewer the results.

It's still early & SFNE won't be at zero for long, but it also won't get out of last place!

Why would those results be all that surprising? I've been on a couple of floorless rides, and I suspect most Buzzfolk have. Naturally something totally different would capture our attention.

"As far as I can tell it doesn't matter who you are. If you can believe, there's something worth fighting for..." - Garbage, "Parade"

How about a none of the above choice? Seriously, the only park that's remotely close off the list (and that's a 9 1/2 hour drive) is CP.

Until you get a parking space with your own name on it, you're still part of the GP.

I think we've discussed the ride all we can.  We know the layout, and we've been talking for ages about whether it was going to be a sit down, a floorless, or a standup.  After a while, there are only so many things you can say about a proven ride like this.  The only things left to discuss are going to come when the ride is offically announced, and when the ride opens.

I-Fan: I actually think SFoG is closer...only about EIGHT hours hehehehe

Anyway, the poll asks about *MOST* not "some level of interest at all" and for me "X" takes the taco because it's just so damn weird!

Actually the poll now shows that Xcelerator is getting the least interest.

I think the results probably will show a geographic bias in the long run...most people are going to be the most excited about something they MAY get to ride.  SFoG's coaster is just over 5 hours' drive for me, but I'm really eXcited about the two SoCal coasters myself...c'mon, CoasterCon.

Now if anything OFFICIAL ever comes my way about Apollo13, then I'll be more than Xcited, I'll be Xstatic...

The general rule is, if a coaster isn't being built at CP or SFMM, no one cares. That's just the way it goes. Why do you think SROS gets no attention? If it was at CP, it would be the best ride in the world, hands down (it is the best ride in the world).
Maybe SROS doesn't get a lot of attention because more of us have ridden the rides at CP and SFMM.  Its not exactly brain surgery.

I dont know Z-Man. It fans out a little more than just CP and SFMM.

Parks like PKI, SFGAdv, SFGAm, Kennywood, and BGW seem to also stand at attention when debuting new rides.

Am I missing something? I don't even think the SFNE ride has been announced yet. It will certainly get my attention once I get the *official* details involving the new ride. I can't get interested in what I know nothing about.

Ok, maybe I'm demented, but I'm looking forward to the SFNE floorless the most. It's the smaller B&Ms which I really enjoy ..

Wicked Twister interests me the least since it's not only so similar to V2, but it has my favorite part of the ride removed.

Im am interested in X because it is a prodo type.

I am interested in Xcelerator because I am wondering about the hydraulic launch.

I am interested in WT because I am declaring CP as my new homepark (I am ten min from WoA).

I am interested in SFoG's coaster incase it really if a flying B&M

I am interested in SFNE's coaster because I like floorless.

Undecided here ;)

Add me to the list that finds SFNE's new coaster the most interesting. Here's why:

1. X - Just opened looks incredible. The excitement and anticipation have peaked and now it's another open ride. Plus I'm not getting to CA anytime soon.

2. Xcelerator - Again, I'm not getting to Cali anytime soon. Although I have to admit this looks like a unique ride that would offer tons of fun. If I were in a situation where all the coasters on the list were equally available to me, this would probably be my choice. Maybe next year, I'll be a bit more worried about it as we're planning a trip to California.

3. SFNE - I just moved to the northeast and most likely will make my first trip to SFNE this season. I was excited about a shot at SROS and now this gets added. I'm looking forward to details. This one certainly has my interest more than the others.

4. SFOG - If I hadn't moved from northern Florida 2 months ago this would be huge for me. But since I'm not heading back south this year, it means very little to me.'

5. Wicked Twister - Cedar Point is a great place. I go every year. Reagrdless of what they announced I'd have been there to ride it. Add to this that it is an impulse (I'm not a huge fan of S:UE) and my interest is limited. Should be a great ride, but there's little suspense there for me.

I think that sums it up and you'd probably find similar interest based on location from most buzzers.

My homepark is SFNE so I'm looking forward to the new coaster.  I don't care what the results are...just to be mentioned with all the other amazing coasters and parks should be enough.

TOP 5
1. Alpengeist, 2. Magnum XL-200, 3. Superman: Ride of Steel (SFNE), 4. Volcano: The Blast Coaster, 5. Apollo's Chariot
Close Calls 1. Grizzly (PKD), 2. Batwing, 3. Montu
I'm looking forward to seeing how the ride will turn out.  I feel that SF will cut costs on theming and it will be another coaster in another park.  Nothing new.

Total rides on Phantom's Revenge: 49

CoasterMan Mike: If no theming equals just another coaster, then I guess Millenium Force would fit in that category.

The SFMM Salvi:
"Goliath Jr. looks to intense for me"
"I want to go on something more exciting than X"
In ref to SROS not getting as much notice as MF...well, this might be true to a certain extent as GP and many Enthusiasts are enthralled by the size of MF's lift hill but I gurantee if you take a poll of people who've ridden both SROS wins by at least a 2 to 1 margin and that to me says a lot more than a #1 at the Golden Tickets (though SROS took a very respectable #2, which is even more impressive considering the number of people who've ridden MF in comparison to SROS) or a bunch of nice spots on Discovery shows.

As far as the floorless goes though, sure, it's exciting for people living in the NE because there aren't very many large parks in the region but for me a floorless doesn't really conjure up exciting concepts...the idea of a launched hyper by the current kings of the style Intamin and wild concepts like the 4D or the new Flyer by B&M are much more exciting to this Enthusiast which shouldn't be surprising, the newer designs always get more interest.

I could really care less about the other coasters besides SFNE's. I never travel, so the floorless will be the only thing new I'll get to ride. Sure I'm following the construction of WT on the webcam, but that's because it interests me greatly to be able to watch a coaster come together day by day not knowing what's gonna happen the next day. I admit, I followed X along with everybody else in the roller coasting world and that's because it was the best thing since the inverted coaster. What it comes down to in the end is which coasters your actually gonna ride.
