"THINK ENTERPRISE."

Hate to break it to ya, but PKI had a Enterprise. It was located where the climbing wall is now. They took it down for a reason unknown to me. So i doubt it is an enterprise

I believe 2 in 2002 is still possible, but what would they be?

My guess would be a Flying coaster of some type and TA2K. If they went with a FD could it be launched to set it apart form X-Flight at SFWoA and not just another variation of Stealth? If they do a TA2K, I hope it is not a copy of Hypersonic. *** This post was edited by lumpy72 on 5/1/2001. ***
but didn't paramount loose their contract with vekoma for the FD.

are you ready to go vertical... v2... SFMW... 2001
I'm almost positive Paramount cancelled their FD contract. They were pretty disappointed with Stealth's performance. PKD and PKI are used to doing similar coasters(FOF, Rebel Yell/Racer, Grizzly/Beast, Beastie/Ghoster Coaster(?), Anaconda/Vortex, King Cobra/Shockwave, Screamin' Demon/King Kobra), so there is a chance PKI could get a TA2K. Most likely, PKI didn't get Volcano, because they didn't have a large defunct mountain sitting somewhere. I hope PKI becomes the first Paramount park to recieve a steel hyper and I believe they will according to attendance, restrictions, money, etc. I'm sure Paramount wants to make their first as good as possible.

From what I understand, Paramount had a contract with Vekoma. It stated (something to the effect) that Vekoma could not sell the FD to another park chain until Paramount purchased at certian number of them first. Paramount, however, did not order any more for 2001, (for whatever reason) but Vekoma wanted to build some of the "new and improved" FD's. I think both parties involved wanted out for different reasons, so the contract was nullified. Six Flags WAS interested in the FD, and the rest we all know as Batwing and X-Flight.

If anyone has more accurate information, please correct me.

"X" marks the spot in 2001!
SON OF ENTERPRISE!!! lol

Don't touch the watch.
LOL! How about, Son of Those Flying Wooden Shoes that Used to Be in the Oktoberfest Area?
Many people said that after the cancelation of the Vekoma project that theyd never build another Vekoma at any of their parks. Well, Rugrats Runaway Reptar at PKI and Silver Streak at PCW are both Vekomas! I honestly dont think we will see two roller coasters at PKI in 2002. However, I am still hoping for a B&M or a larger thrust air 2000. (Preferably a B&M for capacity)
My guess, is whatever they build will be for older kids and adults, like Son of Beast. Maybe a water coaster dark ride and/or another coaster.
I'm thinking something along the lines of the world's biggest scrambler. Just kidding. I actually think it will be a roller coaster. PKI desperately needs a newer, better, higher capacity stand-up as well as an inverted. However, they don't have anything by B&M yet so that might not happen. So, the Hyper, or maybe a Giga coaster by Intamin is also probable. I'm not saying that they won't get anything by B&M, just that they haven't done it yet. Also, I think PKI will monitor Hypersonic XLC and X to see how they do. As far as the 2 in 2002 rumor, I don't think that will happen. I just don't see Paramount letting go of that much money in one year. It's possible that they might take a lesson from Six Flags binge of spending this year and go for it.
I large hypercoaster would go great in that part of the park. The terrain is pretty hilly and could be used for a great hyper terrain coaster. Maybe utilize the hill to have a moderate lift hill with a huge drop.

We can only hope!

BMCOASTER

Why would PKI tear down a part of the forest and build a building out there for a dark ride. IMO the trees are the best themeing you can get.
If it is a coaster, how would the station/body of the coaster (most of the coaster) will be? I think that the station will be where KCKCs was/is (if theres enough room to build it) and a hill will go back by the train tracks. It will then spiral down underneath the Beast, and have the body of the coaster behing Vortex. It would then duck underneath the Beast again and the final brakes will be facing the midway. That isnt a bad idea. Wish RCT had enough room to experiment.

I WAS HINTING A STAR TREK THEMED RIDE .
I doubt that we will see a star trek ride considering:

1. PKI has sense enough to not put somehting like that in rivertown.

2. Star Trek sucks, at least in the GP's mind.

3. We already have a ride with a similar theme. Ever heard of Flight Of Fear?

4. Paramount has already removed all the star trek stuff, like the costumed people.

Yeah. I doubt even that it will be a dark ride. Once we see some supports/building materials at the park, we will know sorta what it will be.

Gotta argue with STar Trek sucking to the public, since Paramount's still willing to spend money on yet another movie and still another tv series, and "Voyager", such as it is, UPN's top rated show. Glad they got rid of the costumed people, though, Romulans wandering old Virginia during my last visit to Kings Dominion was just too odd.

Well they might monitor them for a 2003 or 2004 attraction but as for the 02 attraction they, for a fact, will not. They have already started to clear land and make access roads so its not that probable. They already have it all planned out for the 02 attraction, and i dont think they are going to change there mind that quick.
I agree with you SmArtAce. A Fourth-Dimension or Thrust Air coaster as a 2003 or 2004 attraction would make more sense than in 2002. They wouldn't have enough time to monitor the success of these coasters (especially since X hasn't even started on vertical construction) and still have time to design and build it by next season. I should have thought a little more about that before I wrote it.

Eh. The public could care less about star trek. Its a franchise that is well past its prime. And most of those trekkies are nearly as obsessive as coaster enthusiasts. Weirdos. ;)
