Besides, It's not like any of us would go to a park based on how they run their website during the winter.

I'd suspect that right now, the website isn't a high priority, I mean the park is not open, and right now normal people aren't planning their annual vacation yet. If any website work is being done, it is deciding what to put in it for 2002.
Point B: The park is closed for the season, what advertising advantage is gained by showing a closed park? Especially a closed winterized park.
Point C: Have you considered that the park staff may not have the time right now to converse with every coaster enthusiast that drops them a note. I realize in the ideal world they would, but heck sometimes that's just not plausible.
