PKI to get something really big for 2003?

Well I went to PKI on sunday for one last time this year and it was fun. This was the first time I had done the annual season ending beast ride and it was so cool. I just love this ride at night and when you have a train full of enthustiast its just great. Also Jeff Siebert(sp) is a really cool guy. He was greating everyone and telling them to have a good winter when they all left. I really appreciate PKI for putting this on. But to get to the point as we were all waiting for the line to clear jeff was talking about the new attractions for 2003. He mentioned the new scooby ride and how he is going to post his high scores. He then talked about delerium. After that he was like "and the third attractoin is.... I cant tell you" everyone was just like awww. It was funny. But he didnt leave us hanging completely. He did talk about the clearing behind SOB and the beast. I know how it has been said by many that they are not getting a coaster in 2003 but he talked about a lot of land clearing going on. Could they be getting a coaster? Could they not but already have started land clearing for 2004? HE did say that the third attraction will not be a pay-per-play either.

Siebert is spelled just fine, but I'm left with a question....did Jeff use the phrase "pay-per-PLAY", or were you paraphrasing...if HE used the word "play" that could be a strong clue...;). Siebert and Mandt, never done playing with enthusiasts' minds - gotta love that!

Im not sure his exact words but the point he was trying to make was its not going to be like the sky flyer or anything. He probably didnt use the phrases pay-per-play.

The cleveland browns suck, if its brown flush it down, Go Bengals!

I have been waiting all day for someone to mention this LOL.

DING DING DING You are the winner beast_rocks

I am surprised it took someone this long.

I think PKI could be pulling the same trick Knoebels pulled just recently. A lot of hype about nothing. Knoebels put a teaser on their website months before an announcement, only to say that they will refurbish the water slides and get a used roundup and used skilift. Either this is the case, or they are already mixing some 2004 hints with some 2003 ones. It's not that often you see a park add a major coaster as well as several other rides in the same year.

I wouldn't mind if the new attraction was a new set of waterslides but he was really hinting that something is going on with the clearing

Ski lift?! Sky ride?! What?! :)

I'm glad that someone finally brought it up as well.

I really hope it is a Sky Ride. We need some people movers in the park.
PKI is getting a new Spongebob Square Pants simulator film just as the other four Paramount parks are. So, unless there are four new attractions, that would be the third...

I thought about them considering that as the fourth, but the way they were talking to us about the surveys yesterday at the park, they may be changing the simulator movies off and on during the year. I don't know how major they would consider it, especially since PC, PCW, and PKD didn't release it either as far as I know. Who knows?

PKI has said many many times that there were going to be several new attractions for next season. I've seen and heard Jeff Siebert do this sort of thing for the past few seasons. He is a master of creating hype and interest about the smallest of things that happen in the park. Did we forget about the hyped secrecy surrounding TR:TR already?? I wouldn't read too much into his comments, other than the fact something else is coming to PKI and that it could be almost anything. It's just Jeff being Jeff.

BTW, he did say that it was not a "pay-per-play". The rumors I've heard range from a waterpark expansion to a new movie in the simulator.

Did he say it was going to be 20,000 feet long or was someone pulling my leg?

Danny

Someone was pulling your leg. He didn't give anything specific about the ride, just that land clearing is going on. He did mention though that the webcam might be reactivated sometime over the winter which made me very happy.

I love when people do that. :)

Thanks Beast_rocks. Maybe the Sky Ride idea wasn't as possible as I thought then. I'm very happy that the webcam may return this winter! At least we'll have something else to help us get through the off-season!

Danny aka Koaster Kid (thanks Rob)

I emailed Jeff last week about the webcam, wondering if they were going to put it on delirium to watch the construction.

Danny,

Jeff did mention 20,000 feet, but it was more in his style of "pulling everyone's legs at the same time with a large rope and a couple of park vehicles" way of doing it.

As for yet another announcment, my guess is a new simulator movie could be one or possibly something else, depending on your viewpoint........or depending on what you think is new.

Oh, and Brent, we weren't in Amsterdam. LOL!

-Sean(who thinks we may start to see some major construction going on very soon......and it's not the new super-flat)

Barbie Dreamhouse resurfacing Sean? ;) ;) ;)

Thanks, I wasn't there to hear everything he said, but I should have known not to take anything he says seriously! He's such a goofball, but that's what makes him such a great PR guy for the park. I'm speechless about him and his little "game". =)

I'm getting the same feeling you are about another major construction project, but my guess is that we won't be able to ride it finished until 2004. My guess is that it will be a coaster (I'm having trouble of thinking of things to park *doesn't* have), but whatever it is, it should be an exciting year!

LOL Sean

He mentioned 20,000 feet when I said jokingly "So it's going from Sonny to Papa huh?"

The model in the store window was too much though. And I thought this was a family park. LOL

-----------------

ok beast_rocks so Jeff made mention to land being cleared behind SOB and the Beast... hmmm! I can only imagine, what else they have up there sleeves. thanks for the info and I hope the "putting the beast to sleep" campaign was enjoyable for all who were able to participate. see them in 2003!
