[Here's the official press release:]
Paramount's Kings Island today unveiled plans to build the first interactive family ride in the park's history, "Scooby-Doo and the Haunted Castle." The new adventure ride is based on the timeless antics of the classic Hanna-Barbera™ character Scooby-Doo, who recently made his live action debut in the Warner Brothers release Scooby-Doo. Park guests join Scooby-Doo and the entire Mystery, Inc. gang of Fred, Daphne, Velma and Shaggy on the case to explain the mysterious activity of a green ghost haunting an ancient castle.
The animated adventure begins as guests board their very own Mystery Machine that travels through ghostly graveyards, creepy corridors, and down into dingy dungeons. While winding through the castle, riders are equipped with Fright Light ghost blasters to zap ghosts and collect points. Points are tallied at the end of the experience to see who has the best ghost-zapping ability.
"Scooby-Doo and the Haunted Castle" will change the look of the award-winning Hanna-Barbera Land forever. Guests will enter the attraction through the front gates of a huge castle," said Craig Ross, executive vice president and general manger. "Riders zapping targets trigger a variety of ghostly gags which makes each ride a different experience. This is an attraction kids, parents, and grandparents will enjoy riding over and over again."
"Scooby-Doo and the Haunted Castle" premieres in 2003 and replaces the Phantom Theater attraction that closed in mid July to make way for the new attraction construction
Scooby-Doo first aired on the CBS television network Saturday morning, September 13, 1969 and has earned the distinction of being the longest-running cartoon on television. The mystery-solving Great Dane has starred in more than 310 animated episodes and now stars in his first live action movie.
"Scooby-Doo and the Haunted Castle" will be the newest attraction in the Golden Ticket award-winning Hanna-Barbera land at Paramount's Kings Island. The Golden Ticket award results are determined by a pre-selected group of experienced theme park enthusiasts considered well-traveled park guests. The 400 judges ride, eat, observe and enjoy the best of the best that theme parks have to offer. The best kid's area in the world encompasses the Nickelodeon™ Central area as well as the classic antics of Hanna-Barbera™ Land. Judges noted that between these two areas, Paramount's Kings Island has the greatest variety of childrens' attractions including: four kids coasters, more than any park in the world crowning Paramount's Kings Island the kids coaster capitol of the world; a collection of more than 20 rides; and two stage shows with daily performances.
It is on the DIsney Omnimover system, where all the cars are attached to a moving track and are not seperated by more than a couple feet at the most, they sit 2 people and the cool thing is they spin just like MIB, but you control the spinning! Mose of the characters are 2d, however. MIB is an awesome dark ride, everything past the training zone is 3d and very nicly done the finale when you go into the huge bug and spin around real fast and it's real loud and dark and smoke flies everywere, that makes the ride. When you duel with the other car it's fun, both times I rode we got hit! But when you spin real fast it's fun :)

I'll definitely ride Tomb Raider before I give a final verdict on it.
But, based on what I've seen of it, and as that compares to what's available to me in other places (Orlando and Anaheim, primarily) I'm *not* rushing out to Ohio. It just doesn't grab my attention. The movie was mediocre, I don't particularly like Top Spins of any size, and the theming is skin deep and typical.
Now, if Paramount *created* a story, characters, and environment, I'd be a lot more inclined to check it out - a bit like what existed with Phantom Theater. Had I known abou PT earlier, I probably would be more inclined to visit King's Island.
I'm just not a huge fan of movie properties; especially ones that get rolled out across a whole series of theme parks. I like unique, creative dark rides.

I partly agree with Fierce Pancake. I have ridden both PCW's and PC's "Scooby-Doo" darkrides. They are very similar to Ghost Hunt at Lake Compounce. In the beginning they use the exact same graveyard scenes as Ghost Hunt except they add in some cutouts of Scooby-Doo and Shaggy. They also shared the bedroom scene (2 characters sit up in the bed), mirror scenes (you shoot the targets on the mirror and they light up characters behind them), and the organ scene (in the Scooby-Doo ride Shaggy plays the organ).
The other 2 Paramount park Scooby-Doo darkrides were made by Sally so I assume this one will be too. Hopefully they can redesign the "fright-lights" so that they all of them work. At Carowinds, my gun didn't work the second time I rode it so I couldn't enjoy the ride half as much as before.
The other darkrides were very fun even if most of the scenes are cut-outs. I'm sure that it will be a good ride if Kings Island is building it. I"m sure it will be an extremely popular ride.

Well, I can only be excited if I know I'll be allowed to ride it sans un enfant!
Ohio needs more dark rides!
Here's a hope for us seeing some: http://maxpages.com/zar/Chippewa_Lake_Park
