PKI needs an invert.

No they don't...

Top Gun: Arrow suspended
Face Off: Vekoma Invertigo (Inverted)
Scooby Doo's Ghoaster Coaster: Caprio Suspended
TBA: Arrow or Vekoma Family Suspended
Lets all play nice here fellas. Whether or not PKI needs an invert remains to be seen, however I think it'd be cool if they got one. And if its a custom design, that'd be even cooler yet.

You build it, I'll ride it...eventually
Don't forget, no one thought SFGAm would build another inverted let alone TWO in one year. Stranger things have happened.

JC, who is still waiting for that magical press release.

---I shouldn't have even brought this topic up.

I asked about a full-circuit invert as an addition to PKI. What I heard back were bad things about SOB from some people who haven't ridden it, bad things about King Cobra, and even some mentions of Millenium Force, SFO, and even Chang.

Please, if you see a topic on the list that you don't want to talk about, don't go changing the subject by filling it up with noise.---

Anyway, one reason why I thought that this might be a good addition at PKI is because it would be a high capacity ride. If they really are getting two coasters in one year, then I think it's very likely that they will be full-circuit to help capacity. We know that there won't be anymore wood for a a while, and that one will probably be sit-down steel. I just think that, for the park, an invert is a perfect fit.
I definitely agree Jacob. If they counted SGCoaster as inverted, PKI would probobly be the inverted capital of the US. Any other park have 4 inverts. I'm counting Face/Off, SGC, the new family inverted for 2001 and an adult one for 2002. PKD is already launched capital. Does anyone remember a couple years back when there were rumors PKI was going to replace Vortex with a flying coaster. I thought that was a great idea then, but now a definite NO! I've grown to like Vortex a lot more than before. I hope PKI could get a hyper too.
(Just to get it out of the way, PKI really needs a non looping steel hyper first. Period. Something that's a proven technology with a company that really knows how to do it right (B&M or Intamin) for capacity's sake)

Now on topic. PKI could do very well with a large scale inverted, but only if done by B&M. I'm afraid Vekoma is pretty limited in this area with their SLCs (headbanging not withstanding, and with SFKK right down the road with one). Intamin is a lot smoother, but, the capacity for their trains won't cut it. I'd love to see an Arrowbatic go in right now as the family model in Nickelodeon area, and that is still a possibility, (We'll possibly see at non coaster con mid January) but I will be happy with any coaster addition. But if PKI wanted to truly compete with an inverted, it'd have to be B&M and a record breaker to attract attention and have capacity.
I think that PKI needs a large steel coaster from B&M. They definitly need some improvement`s in the steel coaster category. I think an inverted coaster is a good idea, and I hope that PKI adds two for 2002. PKI needs some steel coasters that attract the attention of the country. Any idea where the inverted (or any of the 2 possible coasters for 2002 would be located?)
(Has PKI ever made an official anouncement on what they are building next year? I`m pretty sure they are renovating the Kings Mills Log Flume and adding a family inverted coaster.)
Personally, I would prefer PKI not to get a B&M... A nice Arrow Hyper, Giga, 4th Dimension, or hell, maybe a giga-looper would be better...

Well, with the smooth ride time on a B&M invert, the Capacity, and the thrill factor, I don't see why they don't get one.... but, I still believe that they need to keep upping the in-between rides for young children and adults that don't like thrill rides.
I think an inverted coaster would be a great addition to PKI, but I do not think that we will see one in the near future. With the recent opening of Face/Off, (which by the way is one of my least favorite rides) it is doubtful you will see another inverted coaster for years to come.
If they get one I really hope it's an Intamin.
Sorry folks but IMHO B&M's are way to over paced(Raptor),but I really wouldn't mind seeing a TopGun The Jet Coaster clone at PKI.
I've heard great things about that little coaster down in Carolina.
Little? Are you crazy!:) That "thing" at Carowinds kicks major butt!!! Any place would be lucky to have a coaster like that added to it's lineup. ;)

What is life without ups and downs!?!?
Dirty Vern, exactly what does "over paced" mean?

Thanks.

I would like to see a full circuit invert at PKI as well or even a B&M hyper. Even though I haven't ridden it, maybe something along the lines of Alpengeist at BGW or even Montu at BGT sans the evil braking I have read both rides have received to slow them down)

But they also should add a good flat ride package from Huss and/or Mack while they are at it.

I too would wish PKI would get a B&M inverted coaster. It can be no higher than Montu, and no shorter in hieght than Dueling Dragons. To answer Coastersrz's question to where they can put the coaster(s) at, the inverted, along with a couple of flat rides, can be in the Rivertown section since they only have the Beast and 2 water rides. This addition would help Rivertown become popular again and not look like a ghost town. The second one should either be a steel hyper coaster by Morgan, Intamin, or Giovonolva(sp?); or another B&M coaster like a floorless, dive machine, or just a sitdown, like Kumba. The second one could go behind the Racer at the end of Coney Mall.

Don't you just love wishful thinking? :)

I think that Paramount`s Kings Island should add a coaster (either inverted or anoyther type) in Rivertown. The last addition to that area of the park occured 16 years ago with the addition of White Water Canyon. Besides White Water Canyon there is only Kenton`s Cove Keelboast canal, The Beast and the train (used to have Kings mills log flume but the renovated flume will be part of Nickelodeon Central. An inverted ( or any type of steel coaster) that is smooth and breaks at least one record would be a great addition to the park (as well as some more flat rides as the last [free] ones were introduced in 1986.
