PKI needs an invert.

I really think that PKI's most needed addition to it's lineup is a full-circuit invert. I know that there was talk of one for the opening of 99, but it was shelved in favor of the Drop Zone and Face/Off.

Seeing as how PKI is not so likely to get the Flying Dutchman as once was thought, and with all of the talk of 2 in 2002 for the anniversary, does anyone think that there is the slightest shot of PKI adding an invert to it's line up?

I think PKI considers its Face-Off an inverted coaster.
I think they need a really good STAND_UP coaster and get rid of the Cobra.
That coaster is a rough ride and I don't know how any guy can stand it (if ya know what I mean)
It broke down twice while we were on it.
Drop Zone wasnt operational either.
I paricularly did not enjoy face-off as it was not thrilling at all.
Just a boomerrang style..except INVERTED.

They need a HYPER
---------
"God gave me a wake up call," RelientK-"Wake Up Call"
They already have a hyper, Son of Beast.
Yeah, right Coasterchic pulling 5gs is not thrilling at all and everything breaksdown.
Yeah, and I got stuck upside down on SOB for 3.5 days.
No really, I think they do need an invert be it a Volcano or TopGun The Jet Coaster clone.
That'd be the bomb......
Well, they already turned down an invert in favor of Top Gun, so it seems they really aren't interested... Also, I think King Cobra is a fine coaster, and I would be saddened greatly if it was removed.

Clone...sounds like Six Flags.

Getting rid of the first stand up wouldn't be good. Fixing it up would be better, but I guess all good things have to come to an end some day. I have never been on it so...I wouldn't know

King's Island better wake up - every park around us is getting something mindblowing. I can't for the life of me understand why they won't do a full-circuit steel coaster that has a more unique layout than what they already have. CP, SFO, SFKK - everyone is doing something with flair.

I guess all we can do is hope somebody there wakes up in 2002.

SOB was not mind blowing??? It is only the largest, fastest, only looping woodie in the world! I know it was somewhat of a dissapointment, but give PKI a break, SOB was one hell of an addition!

"X" marks the spot in 2001!
Really, SOB was definitely mind-blowing. Amazing ride, and a damned big one, too. And waht is SFKK doing? Last I heard they only removed something...
Well, as for SFKK - I am talking about Chang. What a great stand-up coaster.

But seriously think about it....sure, SOB is a cool coaster, but only because it is a wooden coaster with a loop. Take out the loop, and what's the big deal? If it is such a mindblowing coaster, how come CP and SFO are getting all the attention in the rollercoaster world? How come everyone in these rollercoaster forums rave about those two parks, and the other SF and Paramount parks - but PKI hardly gets any glowing comments like "WOW! What a fantastic park", or "Gee, I can't wait to get to PKI this year!" - ??

And can you tell me where I can find any decent PKI websites? There must be half a dozen set up already for SFO, and countless ones for CP.

Well, first, SOB would definitely be an amazing coaster without the loop -- most people don't care abou it. It has a beautiful layout, rids great, it isn't too rough, and it is very intense. As for why PKI doesn't ge talked about much is really something I cannot comprehend. I suppose it's because people just don't bother going. Lots of people that make trips to Ohio for coastering take northern Ohio because of 2 parks, instead of 1...
Face-off was boring to me..sorry.
It didn't matter how many g's it was pulling..going frontwards and backwards wasn't that thrilling.
Raptor in my book was much more thrilling as well at S:UE at SFO.
That's just my opinion.
I did enjoy SOB but in my honest opinion if you waited more then 2 hours for it, you wasted your time.
I had a much better ride on BEAST.
And there wasn't even a line for it.
I think it will be a very long time before a park decided to get a similar coaster like SOB..look at all the problems they had the first season.
A heck of alot more then Millennium Force did!
When I was there they had only one train running and we waited 2 hours for it.
I talked to someone yesterday who waited 8 hours to ride it..now that's crazy.
I think I would have waited 8 hours to ride the force or Magnum but SOB? No way.

I waited 4 and a half hours for SoB, and I thought it was damn well worth it, as did almost everyone that got off, who kept on screaming to people in line that it was well worth the wait...

Back On the Subject, people........

It is not unrealistic to see an Invertigo and an Invert in the same park. Look at PGA. Top Gun and Invertigo.

PKI needs to get the capacity back up a bit more, they have really been improving, but they are still far from where they want to be. SOB should have all 3 trains running next year, and if they got the 4th Flight of Fear train operational to be used as a spare, that would be good, especially on the breakdown days.

King Cobra, though a fantastic ride, and my FAVORITE stand-up, needs something done. the wait is terrible.

As for the next coaster, they should go with a coaster that will provide them wth a 3-train operation, and quick turnover. Perhaps a Morgan or Arrow steel out and back.

I didn't know SOB could run for more than 2 hours without breaking down...you are lucky

And SoB happens to be a hyper, and the best I've been on (only been on MF and Magnum, though). Now, I'm not sure why you mentioned the poop and sticks, as it is not relevant to this conversation...

BTW, SoB rarely actually broke down, it was usually just closed for structural reinforcements... *** This post was edited by Everdred on 1/7/2001. ***

Now, now, SOB will be a better ride when the park re-opens this spring, I promise.
PKI aleady has two inverted, why the hell do they need another.
