I thought lanyards would be cool and all backstage pass looking, but they would likely blow around quite a bit!
I agree, Lanyards would make a great souvenier. As a freelance Stage Hand and Sound reinforcement/lighting tech I found a great way to get that lanyard from blowing around and getting annoying while in the cats or other such tight places. Simply use a safety Pin (or coastermania button most of us will have recieved that day before) to attach the lanyard to an article of clothing directly above the laminent. You don't have to run the safety pin through the lanyard. Just let the lanyard run freely through the center of the safety pin. The increases comfort, and lets the Lanyard hang freely, while still keeping the laminent in the general area it should hang at all times.
Also, it is common sense, but the heavier the laminent then the less it will blow around. This is the same reason many production people where multiple laminents at the same time. (of course, I think we all were multiple laminents to show what shows/tours we previously have worked for).
