I enjoyed the movie. While a bit thin on plot, it was the kind of summer fun action film I like to see this time of year. Perhaps now that they know it's a franchise, they can get real writers for the next one.

Could it be that they are installing two new mindblowing attractions, one themed to cambodia, one to thailand? Which do u think Inferno would fit in?
It is Iceland, not thailand.
I liked Fast and the Furious better. The good part about Tomb Raider was Angelina Jolee. That was about it.

And if anyone cared about how well the film is doing for Paramount, it's the biggest opening for a movie with a female lead(beating Charlies Angels) and the 14th best of all time just behind Independence Day and ahead of Jurassic Park( http://www.boxofficemojo.com/alltimeopeners.html ). So this is definitely something they want to hype and franchise. The movie (like Jeff said) doesn't have the best plot, but it's a great, fun summer popcorn movie IMO. Angelina/Lara make the movie so much better, because this girl can kick some major as...butt! Definitely for those who thought the Angels were too cutesy.
I hope it's a TA2K! Becuase I want one either here or at Cedar Point, (tho I would prefer it at the Point!). That coaster looks awesome and I would like on in the midwest in 2002...:)

This would be my best guess... The Inferno ride, indoors, with the inside themed to be in a Tomb, like in the movie. And I would say that they are also going to install a large steel coaster of some kind, themed to who knows what, if themed at all.

I have to admit, I agree with you. Only for the fact that PKI needs a decent world class steel coaster. But the general consensus, from what I've read around the internet, is that it probably won't be one.
Turning PKI into a theme park is okay, I suppose, but they are doing so many themes that I simply am not interested in. I frankly could care less about Tomb Raider, or the Rugrats, or super-hero cartoon characters. I would love for PKI's new attraction to be a terrain steel coaster that goes through the woods just like The Beast, and it would be so nice to have a water coaster that takes you through a jungle, or canyon, etc...
There's just something about all these modern "simulation" rides that just takes away from the atmosphere of what an amusement park is supposed to be. Rides are supposed to be just that - RIDES. Not simulations. I want a coaster where you actually FEEL the wind going through your hair, as you watch the surrounding landscape pass you by.
I have to admit, if PKI does this Tomb Raider/Inferno thing, and no coaster is put in, then I will probably make this my last year to visit PKI. I'm sick of them not getting their act together and giving us a decent world class steel coaster. Just because they have great wood coasters does NOT mean they can't do steel also.

Wow, you guys are really spoiled. You're so angry that they are not putting in a new coaster? Your not going to visit there anymore since they are not putting in a coaster?
Sheesh, just be happy with what you are getting. PKI has what, 13 coasters? My home park has only 6 coasters, and I'd be happy with just a new flat ride for next year...which I hear is very likely.

What is it with someone who demands a steel roller coaster or they're not going back to the park? They don't owe you a thing. If this new ride caters more to families/non-coaster riders etc., than they're probably making a smart choice according to their market research. Not everyone wants to ride SOB after all.

Seriously, look at Drop Zone, Face/Off, and SOB. These rides are about as hard core and agressive as thrillrides can be. Its about time an Ohio park invested in a major attraction that is new and creative besides a standard coaster.
