MFfan,
being a season pass holder to PKI, I would say its worth visiting Paramount`s Kings Island. PKI has two of the best wood coasters on the planet as well as several innovative steel coasters and an awesome intain gyro drop. I can`t really say if its worth going to Six Flags Worlds of Adventure as it is now know as I`ve never been there but I do want to go there on vaction this summer.

I hope I helped!

i have been to kings island before, but it was some time ago. and that was when i was terrified of coasters so i only rode the racer and the mine train ride i can't recall what it is called. but since i started to love coasters i have wanted to go on the beast. so maybe i will make a trip this summer.

Let's see what options you have......

PKI

The one and only Beast, worth going to the park just for that ride.

Sonny, not a bad ride at all. Hopefully with the bugs fully worked out this summer.

Racer - definitely ride the backwards side.

Vortex - a little rough in spots but is one of Arrow's more intense designs. So much packed into a small area.

SFWoA

SUE - the surprise hit of 2000. Very fun.

Villain - a big winner in the wood category. CCI's only Ohio coaster.

X Flight - the ride I bet so many of us thought would go to PKI if the Vekoma deal didn't fall through.

Big Dipper - classic wood coaster from the Golden Age. Still rides great and is filled with air time.

Hard choice. Good luck deciding.

X Factor

Hey X Factor you forgot BKF "The midwests only B&M floorless" with one of the more original designs of the company. More turns and curves then inversion after inversion. IMO a very fun ride. I personally think its worth going to both parks if you had the chance. But uf you can only pick one, you really can't lose w/ either.

Don't mess with the X in 01
Tough decision. Obviously, I'm partial to PKI. It has the 2 longest wooden coasters in the world, and the fastest (SOB). The greatest suspended non-inverting coaster, and Vortex packs six inversions one right after another. Plus a really fun mine train, and the whole atmosphere of the park is incredible. Fabulous waterpark, also - and it's FREE with admission to the whole park.
SFWoA, on the other hand, has some great new steel coasters that I'm incredibly jealous of. PKI would do well just to get one of them!
Visit both parks or miss out big style. I'd choose either park over Cedar Point anyday!

If I had a choice I would go to the park that doesnt have better service, employee kindness, price or atmosphere, but has better roller coasters. That park being SFGL. For all around goodness excluding the rides, go to PKI. For all around rides excluding greatness go to SFGL. I would pick SFGL anyday.

I would go to PKI. (here comes the speal) With 3 great wooden coasters (SOB, Beast, and Racer), good quality steel coasters (Vortex, FOF, Face/Off, Reptar (ill ride it), and adventure express (think I got em all)), and many good rides to ride in between, you cant go wrong!!!!!

All about PKI
The Beasts` Den

i was planning on going to both. i want to ride all the coasters i can. even if they aren't that great of a ride. i love coasters and will go on anything. when i was at pki when i was younger (as i said before i didn go on anything but adventure express and racer), but ever since that time i have wanted to go on beast. now that i am over my fear.

If you can do both, do both. If you have to pick one like I do this year, PKI. Everyone should experience the Beast at least once in their life.

Thank you for riding America's Roller Coast
PKI is excellent and there isn't a single "bad" coaster. All of them are from decent(AdvEx) to excellent(SOB,Beast,Racer,Vortex,Face/Off). The kiddie coasters are great too. You might want to skip Taxi Jam though unless you want it for the count. The rest are some of the best. Great staff, atmosphere, food, and rides.

The only thing that was really superb about SFO was their coasters. It was to me shocking by how excellent SUE, Villain, and BKF were. Big Dipper and Serial Thriller are fun. Double Loop was fair. Raging Wolf Bobs and Mind Eraser were...not that great. Their flat rides were fun. I think it would be a good place to go though for coasters overall. This year should be way better, hopefully.

If you could only choose one though, go with PKI.

i try not to ride the good old spin and pukes. they then to make me sick. the only ride of this type that i like are like yhe witches wheel, scrambler and tilt a whirl, because of the g's involved with the ride. i like to feel g's. i'm going to go to both just don't know when. soon i hope.

Then I think you are a lucky person! You will have fun. Hope you enjoy your visits!
I've never been to Paramount's Kings Island, but I have been to Six Flags Ohio and I liked all three of their wooden coasters as well as Batman and Superman. Even Serial Thriller, Mind Eraser, and Mr. Hyde's Nasty Fall were all okay, although Serial Thriller was rough. The Villain was great and I look forward to their change into Six Flags Worlds of Adventure with X-Flight and now what was Sea World.
Not only PKI, and SFO, but you need to add Kennywood to your trip.
Here is how I did it last year.
Flew into Columbus, stayed in a cheap Days Inn.
Drove to PKI in morning, park was Great.
Drove back to Columbus and stayed in same Hotel.
Drove to Kennywood in Morning, park was Great.
Stayed in a cheap Days Inn outside of Pittsburgh.
Drove to SFO, stayed until 2pm.
Drove to CP, did the twilight rate after 4pm.
Stayed at Days Inn.
CP next day, 2nd train on MF.
Stayed at Days Inn.
Drove back to Columbus next day, flew home.

You can do the same thing. Most of the driving is done in the morning, and you arrive at the parks first thing, no crowds. Make your hotel reservations on the internet before you go.
All 4 parks are worth seeing, each one has unique features that make them great.
