PKI 2002?!?!

I just heard today that the next one for pki was a 400 ft+ S+S hypersonic-style launch (100mph+), with 14 inversions after the drop. He said it would be some kind of joint project with intamin and morgan or someone else. The price was a definate factor since the who project is so expensive. I didn't really believe him, but it sounded like too much fun not to believe it. He also mentioned 3 in 2002.

SFEG-*New For 2001* Carnival Of Chaos Batman Stunt Show. Wow."

Those are Cedar Fair parks. Not Paramount, who likes to celebrate, especially for it's #1 park. PKI will ge something...Big! Hopefully, that giga we've been dreaming of. Imagine the only 2 U.S. gigas in one state! Whoa!!! A B&M hyper or invert would be find though. A dueling sitdown/invert hyper! 2 for 2002.

I guess we'll know the 2001 winner of the "We Sat on our Azz and Did Nothing Award" at Screamscape. The entirity of Cedar Fair. KBF? CP? VF? WOF?... Whoops they're in luck. A little coaster called Talon, DP. Or maybe a CP surprise. Who knows?

Sorry to seem like a rumor spreader, but did anybody see the sign on the fence in front the now "old" keelboat log flume? It said something to the effect of "get ready for a new adventure in 2002" with adventure kinda accented. Probably just the overactive imagination, but could that have "something" to do with the Adventure Express? I don't know what that means, but I thought I'd throw it out there.
I do not think that they will be moving Adventure Express over to River Town. For one, Adventure express drops off into a valley and there isn`t a valley really close to KCKC but rather back in the woods some. Plus, what would moving adventure express do, excpet maybe enable them to tear down King Cobra and put in another coaster. To be honest moving Adventure Express sound very expensive and I don`t think its going to happen. But you never know. I still think it`s going to be some sort of coaster. I don`t think KCKC will be renovated though, since they just renovated Kings Mills Log Flume for this season.
I really hope they don't put a Ta2k in where KCKC stands now. A thrust air just wouldn't fit with the Rivertown theming. I'm still hoping for a giga or a floorless terrain coaster. That would be something!
Oh please, c'mon guys...

Get *REAL*.. I'm sorry but I highly doubt that PKI is getting a giga coaster for 2002 - WHY? Cedar Point already has one and they need to lay down with their Son of Beast which NO ONE else in the world has.

I think Paramount is going to spend money on Carowinds and Canada's Wonderland.

The Jet Coaster ROARS!
Hey coastersrz! I wasn't necessarily meaning they would move the adventure express, since it said a NEW adventure. It might not be anything signifigant. Maybe a really big mine train (haha)?

The 2001 season just started for crying out loud. Forget about 2002 and go to the park now and enjoy it. Reptar is a wonderful addition. The remodeled log flume is good. The big surprise is how fun and reridable Flight of Fear is now. FoF is almost like a hidden third "new for 2001" attraction! Five words: Best steel coaster in park. One ride and you'll forget about even caring about next year.

I haven't really heard any real rumors, but I have been thinking about this and have come to two possible conclusions in my head:

Stanley Checketts said that there was a 320 foot tall, 100 mph air-launched coaster for next year (I read that in a http://www.thrillride.com ride review) for next year. PKI may want to grasp the tallest and fastest record for tallest and fastest coaster. Also I read somewhere that PKI will watch Hypersonic XLC closely this year. I do agree that this type of coaster would not go to well with the Rivertown theming, it's not entirely impossible. After all, the Nickelodeon section is starting to move it's way into Rivertown.

Second, Arrow Dynamics said that they have sold two or three more Fourth Dimension coasters, but did not reveal to whom (I read that somewhere, but can't remember where). Given that PKI seems to like Arrow pretty much, it's not unlikely that one of these could be headed to PKI.

And there is always that rumor of 2 in 2002 for their 30th anniversary. Who knows what they will get.
The only rumor I've heard is from a friend who works in the finance dept. at PKI. He said the plan is to get a Stealth clone in 2003 or 4. As far as next year, he wouldn't tell me anything other than it won't be a flying coaster.

Hey, Scott, did you have any trouble fitting in the new restraints? I'd like to know so that when I go Saturday, I won't feel cramped when riding FoF.

Nope. No problems at all with FoF or Sonny, which both use the same restraint.

Flight of Fear is now totally awesome!! One warning though, I was at PKI on sunday April 8 and the park was extremly empty (walk on line to the Beast and Son of Beast.) However, because there was only one train ooperating on Flight of Fear what normally takes 10 minutes took about 45 minutes yesterday. It was definantly worth the wait, and is one of if not the smoothest steel coaster at PKI (might tie Face Off)

Another question is that they took some of the Beast`s structure for the first lift hill and final break run into the station out to make way for what i can only imagine will be an acess road for the new attraction. Or an area for a new coaster to go through the Beast?
