Alternatively, that could be the reason they DON'T want to announce it in advance. That way, they avoid all the senseless petitions, boycotts, etc. (and you know they'll happen) If you give the public something else to enjoy right away, they're a lot less likely to get mad because they're pre-occupied with the new toy.

It's just like a little kid - take away their favorite toy a month before Christmas and tell the kid he's not getting it back, and you'll hear the crying and whining about it all the way up to Christmas when they get a shiny new firetruck that'll take their mind off of it. On the other hand, if you tell them you're having it repaired, and then wait until after they have the shiny new firetruck at Christmas to tell them that the repaired toy is going to their cousin and he's not getting it back, they most likely won't notice (at least not right away) that their old favorite toy is gone. A lot les whining, and a lot less crying.

^ So, what you're saying is that Paramount learned from the (negative) experience surrounding the Eagle's leaving PKI...

Bottom line: PCar or PGA (or even PCW) could get MUCH more out of FoF than PKD can....it *should* go elsewhere...

No they haven't, They haven't replaced them!
batwingfansfa, they cant expand behind Anaconda and Rebel Yell's turn, because CSX owns a 2 track railroad that carries freight between Doswell and Richmond. the only place they can really expand is behind WaterWorks, and they have pinned it so that it would be really hard to get access back there.

count me in the group that thinks FoF is going bye bye from PKD....

It seriously puts my trip there this summer in jepordary, probably spend an extra day in Williamsburg now.

Because of one coaster? Wow.
No ride at PKD (even with FOF) has that "wow" quality for me, rather it has a decent amount of good coasters (FOF, Volcano, Grizzly, Rebel Yell, Hypersonic, Avalanche) of these my favorites are Volcano and FOF so its a major part of the park for me.

This is not the first park Ive boycotted, I wont go to CP again until MF is fixed so I can ride on it again or its torn down (and loosing weight isnt going to help me, my bone structure litterally wouldnt allow me to buckle theres so much space there) because being at that park and seeing that great ride and not being able to ride it has ruined my day there. Much as a fear seing FOF would ruin my PKD for me, it also doesnt help that I prefer the park to the south.

Well if FOF's possibly being removed there's always the prospect of something better replacing it...a small to medium sized rocket might fit in there nicely,or maybe a compact floorless as well.
Going or not going to CP for one coaster is going or not going for the wrong reason.
