...in a few minutes, actually. :)
Shortly after 1 pm CDT today, the first boat will be lifted up the drop (about 1/3 of the way up) by crane for the first test.
Testing will continue this afternoon and tomorrow morning.
Our Pilgrims Plunge construction cam will provide a live view.
Cool. I hope all goes as planed.
Any chance of getting a video of the first run Paula :)?
Hope it went well, I can't wait to check it out.Last edited by crazy horse, Monday, April 6, 2009 3:53 PM
I think we'll go with the latest test for the video ... we loaded the boat with corn and dragged it to the top of the drop.
A very respectable splash, if I do say so myself. :)
I'll come back and post the link when it's up.
Video of testing is on the HoliBlog.
More testing on Tuesday, with different water depths. Supposed to be 10 degrees warmer tomorrow. No one's complaining...:)
A question for Paula: from the webcam I notice a new 1-storey building on the north side of the ride near the tower. Could you tell us (well, me) what that's for?
EDIT - after a second look it appears to be about 1/2-way between the tower and the base of the drop.Last edited by Mamoosh, Friday, April 10, 2009 2:29 PM
If I had to take a guess, I would say that is a building that will house the filter. Or maybe they are building me an apartment...
Is your name Paula?
It's my stage name... sorry I got confused. :D
I don't even want to know! ;)
^^LOL Andy. Spare Ensign the details...tell me when you see me at HWNights.
Yes, that's the filter building for Pilgrims Plunge.
Paula (oh, and Andy...I need that boa you borrowed back by the weekend, 'kay? )
Paula gets my vote for funniest park representative on the Interwebs!
Has the Holiwatch program been dropped for this year?
Yes. Unfortunately, our plans to add the HoliWatch program for the 2009 season have fallen through. It seems the challenging economy has made it impossible for our supplier to deliver the software and hardware needed to make the project happen. We hope to find another supplier to work with to make the HoliWatch a reality in the 2010 season.
Thanks, PaulaLast edited by Raven Maven, Tuesday, April 14, 2009 11:05 AM
Any update on elevator or full-circuit testing? I keep checking the webcam but the first section of trough still looks empty.
^I know it was testing full-circuit today. I caught it earlier on the webcam.
As did I.
Well, two new testing videos have been added to the HoliBlog...
...anyone care to explain what happened to the 45x90ft splash? :)
