Pictures od Dragster's new seats

PittDesigner, FYI that 'black box' is a bracket that held the Wheels and Airfoil assembly. The Engine was mounted to a metal plate bolted to the area where the second row seats are now. All they did was remove the theming and add the seats and restrant assemblies. Other than that nothing about the trains has changed.

IMHO all they need to put back on the trains for them to look good and tie everything together is the rear spoiler. the trains would still look like a dragster, but wouldn't have the heavy tires and would still be able to keep the two additional seats.

We i wish i was there when the tire fell off and bounced under Iron Dragon. That would be hilarious. I too choose capacity over theming. I am going to the point on the 12 so i hope it stays open.

Well, I was there when it happened and I can assure you it was no laughing matter. I hate to think of what would have happened if the LEFT tire came off - it would have been thrown directly onto those waiting in line. On top of that, it cost a bunch of folks hours more in line to even get to ride, and I had to wait on the brake block for about fifteen minutes after my ride (I was the last one out before the incident) so that our harnesses could be manually released.

I think the new trains look kind of gay in comparison with those before (not that there's anything wrong with that...). I think the increased capacity is important, though, and while my first reaction was "NO NO NO!", my calmer side prevails and I think an improved capacity is a good idea. You can do the math and say that capacity is going to increase by so and so amount, and that's great, but when you throw in the odd breakdown or failure to crest, it becomes VERY important for those who got to ride specifically because they were seated in one of the "extra rows" prior to the breakdown.

Has anyone noticed yet that the back cars look a lot more like the "middle" cars now? ... Perhaps in the future we'll be looking at 20-seat trains with full themeing? ...

This is what I call the Dreamality test...

Dream: -There is a way to attach more cars.
-The station can be modified with two more airgates.
-The ride can handle 20 passengers.

Reality: -There were spoiler car(s) on the midway.
-Cedar Point is making modifications on TTD (not specifically on the trains).
-I can dream. (See above.) *** Edited 2/9/2004 2:42:25 AM UTC by swimmerkev***

I think they decided to give it a rest this year, looks like you're out of luck Dragster. Try back in 2005.

This topic is from a year ago. I personally can't stand it when people bring back old topics. Then again, I guess it's better than repeating the same thing over and over again. (ie: "New Thunderhead Pics!")

I've often wondered from time to time, how to write good poetry- and make it all... Work.

Pulling back topics from seven months ago for apparently no reason is really annoying.
