Photos show lifthill rising at Europa Park

Posted | Contributed by ACEerCG

The latest update of photos on the official Europa Park website show how much progress has been made on their B&M speedcoaster. The final brake run is complete and work continues on the lifthill, which is nearly half completed.

You can see the photos, with translated captions, at this address.

That HUGE track piece you're talking about is probably the bottom of the first drop. It's something called stress.

As trains ascend down, they force weight on the track; therefore, the track must be bigger to withstand the forces.

Just my understanding.

B&M supports are sweet, I hope I get a chance to ride Silverstar.

If you wan't to ride Silverstar just head to SFGAdv and ride Nitro!

That ride is going to be another great B&M.  I love all their coasters.  Anyway, I love the way B&M supports look.  RagingBullGuy, I agree with your signature.

if u look in the top right of the picture there is a layout i think of the track...it has a dip and is not the same as nitro...

Ok once again that's the old layout. It doesn't have those massive supports or does it?! So it won't have a dip.
I already found out that the image is not accurate and if you check the excusive video of the ride you'll see that the ride is just like Nitro.
Hey can anyone tell me the specs on this coaster? i have not heard much about it. Thanks!

For specs, check out rcdb.com. Hey, how about that trippy structure at the top of the lift. Cool! And for those of you poo-pooing the folks talking about supports, give them a break! Any regular Joe can ride a coaster, but some folks are into the aesthetics and engineering too. Not only are they fun to ride, but they are neat to look at. And I think this is an appropriate place to discuss the finer details. Granted that it doesn't degrade into a mudslinging contest!

And for another 2 cents, what a neat looking ride!!!

Yeeee Haaawwww!

Silver Star has pratically the exact same layout as Nitro. It also has the same stats as Nitro, I smell an answer!

_________Length Height Drop Speed(mph) Duration
Silver Star:5315' - 239' - 213' - 79 mph - 4:00 min
- - - Nitro:5394' - 230' - 215' - 80 mph - 4:00 min

Acrophobia, could you point me to the URL of this "exclusive video" you're speaking of?  Thanks.

I don't have an exclusive video, but here's a picture of SilverStar that might interest you:

Very Nitro-like indeed.

It'll be pretty much like Nitro but there's some smalller differences. The brakerun will be before the helix, and not so many bunny hills i think, i count 3 bunny hills. I'm not sure about that though. There will be an upward turn to the 2nd hill wich i don't think Nitro have. And yes it's a neat looking ride! :) ;) :)

I am going to defend my thoughts on the design of the supports by concluding that I am looking at them in an artists perspective.

Its just visually more pleasing to me than other B&M supports. Thats all. Nothing else.

Of course, I would rather take an Arrow 1000 times over this.

The design is very much like Nitro, I know exactly what the only differences are:

1.The hammerhead curve is the turnaround which you see on Silverstar is the same as on Nitro

Difference:The hammerheads on Nitro and Silverstar are at different positions because the second hill on Nitro forks to the left.

2.The helix you see on Silverstar closely relates to the helix on Nitro

Difference:Though both helixes are the second turn around for the rides, the brake run on Silverstar come on the hill right before the helix not right after the helix like on Nitro.

3.Silverstar and Nitro both have 2 hills before the turnaround at pratically the same height and three final bunny hops

Difference:Silverstar's three bunny hops are seperated by a turn unlike Nitro's, which are placed one after another.

To clear up what I meant by exact layout was that Silverstat has the exact same features in pratically the same order.  Basically Silverstar is a new version of Nitro with a few changes to make ride more enjoyable(Kind of like Goliath & Tian or Great White & Batman:The Ride).  The turn at the top of lift on Silverstar was placed there because Silverstar's location restricted it to go in the same direction as Nitro.  As fore the B&M dip, I don't know if you would consider it a B&M dip, that weird dip was added to make the needed turn unique and thrilling.  So Silverstar is basically the same ride as Nitro.

Oh, the "exsclusive video",which might I say you all had a chance to see, was posted in a previous Silverstar update on this site.

I'll tell ya what. that lift hill appears to be around 45 degrees to me. Take a good long look. When I first saw it, I immediately thought it was another MF going up. The supports don't look the same, of course, but the incline made me think that it was. I guess I'll just stay tunes and see what pops up next.
