Phoenix painted green or just moss?

Comet's white paint and making the top 10 list:

A few thoughts as to "Why":

A) In the early 1970's were the "top 10" lists really that popular?

B) Are there any records on Comet's ridership? Did ridership increase around the time it was painted white, meaning Comet was getting more peoples attention?

C) If it was a result of ridership increase around the time of the white paint job, any thoughts on why it may have increased?

- Did more people from out of the area discover Hersheypark? After all, wasn't Hershey Park, prior to its transformation in the late 60's early 70's into a modern style "theme park", considered more less a "local" park to the neighboring counties? I know of quite a few locals (my parents included) who kind of "gave up" on Hershey for a while after the late 1960's early 1970's when it went to strictly POP... and only starting to make return visits in the late 70's and early 80's. Or were more people drawn in by the new sooperdooperlooper and they also discovered the Comet? Or did the paint job actually have something to do with it? (I can remember when I was a little kid, I wanted to ride the Comet, but my mother refused to let me because she seemed intimidated by its more omnious dark appearance... its white paint makes it look like a "friendlier" coaster)

And as far as that midcourse trim on turn 2 (the station turn). Is that still on as heavy this year? My only ride on the Comet so far came earlier in the summer, and the break seemed to be on very lightly, allowing the train to do the last half of the ride with a good bit of speed... fastest I remember in years, even giving some good air on the bunny hops. *** Edited 7/13/2006 4:59:47 PM UTC by SLFAKE***

I wonder how many people are going to call up Chemcoat and order a batch of Phoenix Green for their deck! *** Edited 7/13/2006 2:30:00 PM UTC by millrace***

And here I just got finished putting a coat of Olympic Cedartone on my deck! (semi-transparent)

Aww, they don't show paint chips.
