Phantom's Revenge... a dud?

Don't get me wrong, I loved the airtime in the backseat. However, I felt that the coaster lacked intensity. It also felt like it was shorter than corkscrew at CP. This is just my opinion. Anybody else have one about PR?
I loved it, but everybody has their own opionion. The world would be a dull place if we all thought the same. :)

Scotty
Please don't kill me :), what did KW do? They just took off the inversions & remodelled the second half of the ride. Then again, I've never ridden it (before & after,) let alone a Hypercoaster. SP looked wicked to me & I would've loved to ride it.

IMOHO they should've taken out the whole thing & built the rumored B&M Inverted. This rumor is still alive, to be built in & around PR.
I think if anything, the ride suffers from Kennywood's lack of land to expand upon. The ride was short because of the available space. Having ridden it though, I thought it was an improvement over Steel Phantom, at least in terms of drop, speed, and smoothness.

I can still remember getting the crap beat out of my head on the Steel Phantom. ;) Phantom's Revenge is an awesome coaster. It really impressed me. But this was before I rode MF and X-Flight....:)

I thought the ride was a waste of time, but I thought very highly of Kennywood and all there other attractions. I think the exterminator is a better ride than Steel Phantom. Steel Phantom is way overrated!
I think that the coaster had intensity, just no where near as intense as the old SP. Even early in the morning (first ride KennyKon ERT), it still ejected us from our seats. It is a short ride, but so was SP.

I love PR. Then again, everyone has their own opinions and if you're not a hypercoaster fan, what can you do?

I just think it's stupid for people to judge the ride if they haven't ridden it. Besides, the experts have spoken: The Phantom's Revenge is the highest rated new coaster in the AT Top 25 steel coaster list, so I am satisfied with that :).

My first ride on it was a little disappointing, but I went back the next day and rode it twice more. I loved it. Its one of the few coasters that I can actually say I liked more each time I rode. I do wish it were a bit longer, but that's my only complaint. The airtime is incredible.
I think PR is awesome. The first two hills are as good as ever and the rest of the ride has great airtime. And as I mentioned in a recent KW trip report, the GP appears to love this ride. And whats not to love: big fast hills, airtimes, and comfortable trains.

(warning, I’m getting on my soap box here)
All of this talk about rides not being intense enough (see other B&M thread) is really starting to irritate me. What do you people do that is more intense then riding coasters? Are you all into skydiving, auto racing, cliff jumping, or what? So a coaster can only be good if it goes 0 to 100 in 2 seconds and pulls 5 g’s? Don’t over think this stuff, just sit back an enjoy.

If by DUD you mean "the greatest coaster of all time" then Yes, it is a DUD!

It's definitely not a dud. The 2nd half is excellent.

It's very rare that I will say something like this, but quite frankly this is the single most ridiculous topic I've ever seen. I guess you're entitled to your opinion, but I haven't met even one person who ever thought that Phantom's Revenge has perhaps the most forceful airtime of any coaster they've been on.

You go RPMGuitar. I wanted to say the same thing but didn't feel like typing it, after all I am working. Trust me, I'd rather be on a "forceless" B&M right now instead of sitting at my desk.
I loved the SP and I love the PR just as much. Both are/were unique and fun in their own ways. I wish KW hadn't had to change the ride over but both are/were winners in my book. The air on the back half of the PR is brute but the ride is now smooth enough for the GP to enjoy and re-ride which is what KW wanted. I know when I went last year for the final days of the SP the line even for the front seat was never longer than 20-30 minutes, it was loved but people wouldn't go on it more than once...PR is just as loved but people *do* go for re-rides which to me indicates the right decision was made by the park.

Well then I think you really need to get yourself on any of the S:ROS, particularly the one at SFNE.

Although I liked PR, I was expecting more, and I thought the airtime was spoiled by those seat belts that you can't keep loose!

And I know Kennywood doesn't have much space, but it still doesn't change the fact that it is too short for a hyper coaster.

RPM,
When I think of intensity I think of elements, tightness not speed and height. Speed and height do not make a ride in my opinion.
Seems like some people are taking this a little too personally.

Jeff,
I am glad you think this is the most ridiculous thread you have ever seen, but it accomplished what I was hoping for. I got to compare what I liked and didn't like about the ride with other buzzer's opinions. I wasn't slamming the ride. It is just different strokes for different folks. That was why I said "in my opinion" I never make general statements such as, "This ride ____" If I can't ask for other people's opinions and discussion then what good is a message board?
I wasn't that impressed the Phantom's Revenge. For one, it is just too short of a ride. I know that it is way smoother the Steel Phantom, but I don't think the Phantom's Revenge was worth all the hype.
I know of a way to keep the belt loose. Get something that clamps onto the belt so it stops it from rolling back into the seat. I have any ideaof something, but I can't really put it into words.
