Phantom Theater

I know this may seem like a stupid question but I was wondering if you need a child to ride it... I read somewhere you did? It looks pretty cool and I really want everyone to ride it when we go. Anyways thanks :)

I think that was the policy last year, but we have been on it this year and we had no problem. Even when it had the sign up, I think my friend rode it anyway without a problem.

That policy was instituted about a season or two ago.

The decision was made because of the ever growing amount of teenagers populating the ride, vandalizing it as well as commiting questionable acts in front of children riding the attraction.

However, the outcry from the public was so strong PKI dropped the age restriction within just a week or two of operation.

Adults can ride without children, however riders are being watched more closely and rule breakers are being confronted by security who now has videop tape as evidence.

what is it?
Phantom Theatre is Kings Island's 1991 Haunted House that is based on an opera house and all kinds of spooks that live there. It utilizes a ride system similar to the continuous Doom Buggies at Disney. The ride occupies the building that used to house a Hanna Barbera boat ride, and beginning in 1984 a Smurf-themed boat ride. Some of the tricks used are similar to that in Disney's Haunted Mansion, and I really think KI's is a great little family ride. It seems to go through phases of neglect every now and then, with movements and lights not working correctly. But lately they have really kept it up, and boosted the sound. It's the perfect chance to take a break from coastering, especially on a colder day.

Go here and you'll get the idea....

It is a waaaay above average dark ride. The general rumor is that the attraction may be in it's final days of operation this season.... I personally would hate to see it go.

The pics speak for themselves.
