You know how sad i have become? I acutally have about 10 people who want to build this coaster with me! Im goin with it! Once I find the time, ill start. Ill post construction pics for yall. Wish me luck! (dead serious post)

That's awesome. The second hill looks like it gives some serious airtime. Did you watch the POV video? Wow...you'd practically fly out of the car at that point. Interesting that is actually has wood running rails. He's adding plastic rails to it now, I guess. The wheel assembly on the car is pretty cool too. He had the wheel assembly with road, upstop, and guide wheels custom machined. Cool!

Looks like another coaster to add to the database to me.
One person per car! And I was thinking Hypersonic had a bad capicity. ;)

We came, We saw, We rode, We went home! :)
So does anyone know why Michael Jackson didn't build that amusement park in France, or some country in Europe?
He was going to build one, they showed the plans on tv. They we're going to have a roller coaster that went around the entire park.
So what exactly happened?
Yeah, we already know about his problems with boys, love of farm animals and chimps, and we could joke about it, but I want the exact answer as to why he didn't build the park.
That is awesome. I've always wondered what it would be like to have a roller coaster in my yard. This guy gives me hope that it could actually be done.
Has anyone actually watched the videos? How does the ride look while running? My connection is too slow to watch the videos without downloading them for an hour.
I have a slow connection too, but I saved and downloaded 6 of the videos. The onride videos are very cool! It goes very fast, and that second hill looks AWESOME. I really want to ride that thing! Is it just me, or would a helix after the turn around be cool? :) I too have thought about someday making a rollercoaster...I'll just need a book that shows how the rails are, width between them, etc...I think it could be fun, and I would attempt 25-30 ft. :)

Will be at Busch Gardens Williamsburg April 27th.
Believe it or not, I have plotted the course of a wooden roller coaster I would like to have built in my backyard. Yes, I have a fairly large backyard (I live in LA, so that explains it)! :)

Don't forget what he said though. You can't just go out there and build. He said he figured out exactly how to make supports strong enough in the right area and did it all out on paper before. Are there footers under that too?

We are the keepers of the sacred words, Ni!, Peng!, and Nuuuuuwwwom!
I wonder what kind of permits he had to pull to build that? He probally has an agreement saying that he won't use it for commercial riding. I.E. he won't put a sign on his front lawn saying "Coaster ride! $2"
It looks like from the "early days" pictures that he used skateboard wheels as upstops. That is very very cool.
And to think, I can't even scratch build a model coaster...

I was more looking toward CCI building my backyard-woody! :) It won't be too tall, but it would have a double-drop and a very neat starting - dipping off a hill then turn in the woods and onto the lift. Hehe! I need to stop dreaming...

This guy can write his ticket to any roller-coaster design firm when he completes his degree. I doubt theres a company out there that wouldn't jump at the chance to hire this guy. He shows that he's got initiative, planning, the design/engineering skill, a true love for coastering, dedication, hard work, and most importantly: He knows how hard it is to design a working rollercoaster. He knows that it's not just all fun and games, that there's real work to it...and he still loves it. I'd sure give him a job, and I'm sure that if he just sent the web address as his resume, he'd get hired by anyone.

Wow! That's awesome.
I'm wanting to do that someday. But for this summer, I am constructing a wooden coaster model that covers like 5 meters x 1.5 meters. Yes, it's gonna run a real model train! I'm designing the coaster in AutoCAD right now with my brother teaching me the program.

The Jet Coaster ROARS!
Jeff, is it ok to bring this one back up?
That is perfectly fine. Its better then starting a new one.
