I don't know if it's been discussed yet, but here.

It's attached to the lap bar so now it has a lap bar and harness. Very weird
EDIT, i guess it's seperate upon closer inspection. Still they need both?

OK...now seriously...they are doing way too much. That is some serious restraint just for a ride that's essentially a one trick pony. I mean it's gonna take time for ops to lean all the way over to the middle seats to check these harnesses.
Plus! Its ugly!

That's quite possibly the most ridiculous looking thing I've ever seen! I'm all about safety, but that really is not the way to achieve it.

THANK YOU CAL-OSHA!
Once again proving that stupidity is still alive and well. I know I might sound mean here, but if that woman had of worn the restraints properly AND known her own limitations based on her size, we wouldn't have to worry about extra restraints for the horizontally gifted. I'm sorry, but maybe if a weight limit was strictly enforced that would give some people the added push to loose some pounds.
(oh boy am I going to get flamed for this post)

Might I propose that those may just be for the dumbies?
That may not be true but could be a possibility.
Seriously, its her fault, not the parks.

At least I dont call a vertical loop a "loopdie-loop"!
Yeah, except the press reported that the park said they were for humans. Keep up on your news there, kids.

now thats crap. why all this for something that wasnt even their fault in the first place. now the wait is going to be another 1 1/2 - 2hrs longer. its just too much to check. volcano always has a slow dispatch time(or atleast i think it does)and the seatbelts are easy to reach. these rows are 4 across with seatbelt buckles everywhere. just going to be a pain for the ride-op's......

Next thing you know these straps will probably start showing up on intamin hypers as well, god I hope not.
If that happened I'd fly over to Europe and protest out side their offices!
Also Jeff, I've never been able to see this press report. I don't know where to find everything and I'm sure you've missed something before too!
Actually, I'm pretty sure that Intamin still maintains that these straps are not necessary.

Did she fit? Maybe. But the issue is that the lapbar was considered to be "locked" with her in it, and she still managed to be ejected.
While I do think the it is a bit silly looking, Knotts is just gonna have to what they gotta do, which is to look like they take the situation seriously.
