PDA Channel

How about a PDA channel for the Coasterbuzz news? AvantGo (offline content reader program) channels for PDA's are nothing more than a text-only page with a list of news topics. Each item in the list is a link to the text of the news item (also a text-only page.) Basically, something like http://mobile.theonion.com/ (I'm not plugging the site, just using it as an example.)

I thought a little bit about that. I used to use AvantGo for News.com (don't know if they still use it). I'm not sure what's involved... I haven't looked into it.

Making an AvantGo channel doesn't involve much. You don't even have to do anything AvantGo-specific, just make a lightweight version of the content for avantgo and users can use AutoChannel to turn a regular web page into a channel.

If I could get CoasterBuzz on my Palm, I'd think I had died and gone to heaven. It sure would be great to read the latest coaster news during a long and boring IST class.

If I had the go-ahead from Jeff and was sitting bored in study hall (quite common!), I could try to write a script that converts a coasterbuzz news page into a PDA page (something that would live on my server, I mean.) It doesn't look like something impossibly hard to do, so, what do you say? I know that there's about 100 copyright issues with something like that, but I would attribute everything to coasterbuzz, etc...

Obviously I'd like to retain control of all content aggregation. Remember, there is something already similar to this in the form of the newswire.
