Parks 2003 - where are you going?

I am planning on going to Cedar Point but haven't decided when to go yet (anyone have suggestions on the best time of year to go?)
My vote is definitely fall weekends. If there are long lines to deal with, it's a lot better when it's not 90* CP can be a lot of walking and you may poop out early in that heat. Sundays are always good days ( if you don't mind missing out on CP in the dark) if you do, I'd vote for July when their hours are good and if you can take like a Wednesday and Thursday, crowds are lighter usually. Good Luck and Enjoy..... You will love it.

My sorry List: I'm jealous you guys are going so many places how do you have the time and money? anyway:

1.) CP all season long

2.) Most likely SFDL and hopefully BGW

Has anyone been to Busch Gardens in Virginia? Do you know how many days I will need to relax and enjoy all of the park? I want to go for the whole nine yards, coasters, flats, shows, and food.

oops, forgot about SFWoA, gotta see my Dolphins and Sea Lions. Plus I loooove the Batman floorless and the Villian.

CP Silly,

If you go to Busch Gardens Williamsburg on weekdays in May, you'll easily be able to do everything many times in one day. Check their Web site for the schedule. I sometimes spread it out into a second day so that I don't get tired of riding Apollo's Chariot so many times.

Still trying to figure out somewhere to go in the last week of March-I'll be going to LA in the summer, so I was hoping to go to TX. However, it appears the parks will be closed then.

FYI you might want to re-think the trip.

The Texas Parks open March 8th (At least for weekends)and weather here in March is great. Warm sunny and the parks are much less crowded.

I know it's off the subject, but those of you coming to Six Flags St. Louis this summer, should stop by the steam train ask for me. I would like to meet some of the people that share my love of the theme park industry. Just ask one of the conductors or engineers for Buddha and they will point you in my direction.

Mark B - in addition to rethinking the TX portion you might want to rethink coming to LA this summer, too. The parks will be very, very crowded. Best time to hit the LA parks are in the Spring, particularly for Winter Solace or in Fall, particularly during the Halloween events.

Late jumping in....as usual...;)

Let's see, the only *firm* plans are SRM amd the Missouri area stuff (SDC/CC, WoF, SFStL, whatever...)...and the Con, of course...we'll see how that trip expands once Bass e-mails me plans for Con-Quest....(Bass?)....and CAC, along with all the coasting goodness the Pacific Northwest has to offer....

As for the FOODS that I plan on *conquering*, you'll have to check *the food thread*...;)

April - Knoebels, Kennywood
May - SFWoA, CP, Holiday World
June - HW, IB, SFGAm, MiA, PKI
July - Who knows? Probably Conneaut Lake Park, Waldameer, and Erieview
August - SFGAdv, Adventureland, Lake Compounce, SFNE, SFDL
September/October - Still up in the air, but without a doubt Phoenix Phall Phunfest and multiple trips to KW for Fright Nights

March: Solace (KBF/SFMM)

June: SFNE, Compounce, Quassy, Rye, Coney, Jersey shore, SFGADV, Clementon, Maryland Shore, SFA, Hershey, Williams Grove, PKD, and BGW.

July or August: The Bay Area to ride Zonga and whatever PGA is getting this year. Also, a family trip to Sequioa National Park.

Intamin Fan says we have to behave. Let's bring this discussion back to coasters. Do you people think I have all day to dick around?

Judas priest - doesn't anyone work around here?

ophthodoc....not since Rob Halford went solo....;) BTW, just a note: Rob Halford, lead singer for Judas Priest, *came out* in a gay magazine after the band broke up. I thought it was *old news*, but was informed otherwise by a gay friend....

*The rule* as I understand it, is to *work* all winter and accumulate enough leave to RIDE all summer....well, maybe not *the rule*...but certainly *the plan*...:)

i'm moving to ky in may and will be getting married in july. we'll be living about 45 minutes from holiday world so i figure we'll be hitting in every couple weeks.....right now the list looks like:

hw, pki, ll, pkd, sfkk, sfwoa, cp, ib, sfga, sfa, sfsl, dollywood...

and for the honeymoon: magic kingdom, epcot, mgm, animal kingdom, and island of adventure....

should be a good summer...

seek first to understand
then to be understood

i'm not gonna make it to many parks due to my work schedule, but here's what i've got planned so far.

June- Knoebels

July- My first trip to Kennywood

August- Knoebels yet again

October- Hopefully Knoebels for PPPP and Dorney for Halloweekends

Well for most of the summer I'll be practically living at PCW

But as for non-work park visits, I hope to get to SFDL, CP, and PKI

And a little family jaunt down to BGW, and PKD.

This summer I'm going to Six Flags New England. It is the best amusement park in the world with the biggest, fastest, scariest, coolest, most family-oriented rides on the planet. The people there are nice, the workers are friendly, safe, and extremely efficient. The park is the cleanest park in the world. There are never days when it's too crowded or lines are too long. The food is great, the games are easy, and it is the most beautifully themed park in the world. Yay SFNE.

I'll definitely go to PCW 15 + times this year. I was considering getting a job there, but the commute (public transit) would cost 10 dollars a day. It's just not worth the cost.

I'm trying my hardest to get down to CP this year again. I went last year during the last week of August. I had such a blast!! It was easily the best vaction I have ever taken.

The Other Siebert

Minus the So Cal trip, Swoosh your schedule is remarkably similar to mine!!!

I am excited for my first Islands of Adventure visit... also my first Six Flags over Georgia.... WOO HOO!!!

Celebration City will be my most visited park this year, I already got my "All-City Pass"

I cant even break it down into months...i get there when i get there.

CP, PKD, BGW, SFA

Possibly: KBF, SFMM, PGA, SFGAdv

Hoping: Everywhere i can get.

2003 season kicks off 3/22 w00t!! PKD here I come!
CoasterCount: 42

What I know: SFEG, SFNO, WDW, IoA, BGT, SWO.

Possible: SFFT, SFOT, SFAW

I'm looking forward to this year.
