I actually just downloaded it as well, cranked out a quick invert. Am I missing something? Are the lifts not considered blocks? It doesn't seem to respect it as such. What does it take to get customers to start showing up?
Runs great on my shiny new 5K iMac at the highest resolution and quality, but that inability to build backward and have the track meet somewhere is just killing me.

No, blocking isn't entirely "real world" working yet. (still pre-alpha, I suppose) - it doesn't treat the lift or station as blocks. Two trains can be in the station and a train can leave the lift before the next block is clear. However, it will hold on an actual block brake if the next block brake isn't clear. I've made up for it with dispatch timing.
Let's say it's half working.
From what I understand peep numbers are still an issue of optimization. You should be getting peeps, but you're not going to fill a park. Hell, I can't fill a queue. The most I've seen in a full-map park is 400-500 and from what I understand that's on purpose at this point.
Still a long way to go.
Turns out I accidentally had guest spawning disabled :| (uploading a new build right now)
Peeps should receive some good optimizations around April. Basically we're waiting for Unity to fix a bug that causes them to be way more expensive than they should be.
I've experimented a little with Unity... it's pretty powerful and gives you a lot for "free." I imagine it's not always as optimized as it could be, but it's a fair trade for all of the abstraction that it does.
I hope you don't mind that I'll keep complaining about the reverse building. :)

Finally got a first place finisher with Stratosfear in the wing coaster build-off. Up this month is the Wooden Coaster.
I pumped a quick one out this afternoon to get back into a woodie mindset. Turned out so well that I decided to enter it.
Great stuff, Gonch. I'm looking forward to dropping these rides down in my own park someday. I really like the water and rocks near the queue for Green Meanie. Those are some nice subtle details that make it really great.
Coasterbuzz - Coaster enthusiasts, but so much more. We're the good ones.
Thanks.
I think of these one-off rides more like an outline. Most of the idea is there. You could easily fill in the blanks and build a park around it.
The game seems to use that on diagonal lift hills. The straight lift hills get the chain animation. Not sure why.

So everyone's just gonna ignore this?
What has happened to Coasterbuzz, indeed.
Hi
Now I'm excited for this. Is there a release date yet?
"The term is 'amusement park.' An old Earth name for a place where people could go to see and do all sorts of fascinating things." -Spock, Stardate 3025
Back for another update (hopefully innuendo-free).
Everyone in this contest seemed to be making relatively large wooden coasters. I decided to make a second entry that matched the size of what others were doing. Ended up with some really great ratings.
As usual, click through for all the info and screenshots.
Mastodon? Great name for a coaster! One of my favorite metal bands too.

I started at "Mammoth" and then took a step left.
