3. That park, especially under Six Flag's ownership, sucked...big time.

LostKause, I don't agree with you or disagree with you, really. I just find it crazy that the park (in a two year span) more than doubled its track total. Is the 1 yr., 10,075 ft. increase a record?

Also, with the proposed hyper coaster, the park would have entered the top-ten list, which is crazy.

Geauga Lake closed in 2007 and thanks to its closing some other parks have gained some tracks including Kings Island, Kings Dominion, Dorney, Michigan Adventure to name a few ! I know that I am glad that the coasters have new homes and not went to scrap like the Villian and Double Loop did! I wonder if Cedarpoint wil be gaining some feet of track for the 2010 season??????

Life is like a rollercoaster! It is full of ups and downs!

d_port_12E, thanks for the post. Interesting to see the super fast growth and then demise by coaster track length.

Understatement of the year.

The SFWOA years in Aurora showed exactly what the problem was with the chain. It was a joke - "build it and they will come" mentality at its worst.

I didn't experience the SfO/SfWoA horror stories (long waits, overflowing trash cans, giant crowds, disinterested employees).

But I doubt I was even looking for them...I was a freshman in high school, thrilled with the new coaster selection, caring about little more than that.
