Park of MOA/Nick Universe

I think Splatosphere went from laying on the ground outside to standing vertically inside in about 48 hours. Probably woulda been quicker save for the fact that they won't work while the mall is open.

They do all the heavy work at night. But believe me, at times during the day there is A LOT of work going on, just lower key. They've been testing Splat-o-Sphere since the weekend already! The lighting system on it is VERY VERY bright. I think it will probably have to be toned down, as it glows on all 4 of the blue walls around the park.
Looks like the crane's up by the Spongebob lifthill as I type this.

Of course, the mall isn't 'open' yet...but what are they up to? Are they going to install a catwalk and stairs by the midcourse, too?

And have they done any 'work' on the annual pass pricing, or can you talk about that? Last person I spoke to at a booth said they weren't selling them at all 'till after the conversion was complete...

Does anybody know if the home plate plaque for the old stadium is still there? I know the chair is still hanging on the wall above the Log Chute. But since all that construction is going on in that corner with SBob, I hope they didn't remove it permenatly.

Even though it is Nickelodeon Universe it will reside in MN. And it's Minnesota's history should take priority.

Thanks for another great season, VF!

The plate was much closer to the former Northwoods(?) Theater than any of the rides.

I have no reason to believe they removed it.
But admittedly I haven't looked for it lately...

Quick question: was Ghostblasters removed for the new Spongebob coaster? I can't see it in the pics of construction.

My favorite MJ tune: "Billie Jean" which I have been listening to alot now. RIP MJ.

Ghost Blasters is operating as of last Sunday however the blasters are suffering with poor performance.

Chitown: Ghostblasters apparently shared a wall with one of the shops. They removed it and replaced it with something temporary for a while, but the ride wasn't out of operation long.

Whew!

Thanks for the pic Jerryd.

When I tried to look for it, it might have been under some equipment at the time.

Looking forward to 3/15!

Ghostblasters is still there, so that is good.

What about the virtual theatre and the babysitting junglegym that was above Ghostblasters? I take it those are gone?

Chitown we don't agree on baseball teams but I think we are on the same page about Ghostblasters..

No I don't have a kid, but I still want to ride!

Have they announced the new names for the rides?

^I mean the new names for the old rides. For instance, the Kite Eating Tree, Mighty Ax (seems to have lost all its ax theming,) tumbler (new paint,) etc.

Oh, sorry.

Well, rcdb has the names of the existing coasters with new names but you probably already knew that.

^Thanks, I didnt actually know the new names of the coaster, good old RCDB does the trick again. The Orange Streak? I guess the ripsaw is getting a new paint job as well? Its too bad they are dropping the "camp" theming, also it looks like they are blatantly copying some names from the old Paramount parks, which is interesting.

C-Town: Yes, the Mystery Mine Ride, Old Time Photos and another retail shop were all demolished for SpongeBob.

The hourly daycare place above GhostBlasters bit the dust on its own some time before construction.

T-Down: Would you believe I was within inches of the completed plans and didn't look them over a couple months back? I guess I thought they'd be there for a while. *smacks forehead* All I can remember was that the log flume was going to be themed to 'slime' or 'gak' or something...

Yes the track is supposed to be painted orange and supports lime green. The actual train is supposed to get a new fiberglass body. I think Looty said that its orange with a green stripe on it.

iWOF
That would wind up looking an awful lot like the spinning coaster, wouldn't it? *scratches head*
